Imagine hating Defoe man. Almost single handedly kept us up, loved sticking it up the mags, and put a huge smile on the face of a seriously ill child. The family have said what a huge difference he made. And all that is forgotten because he left second time around when he wasn't even playing or making any impact (when he could've just stayed put and picked up a wage).
Who hates Defoe like?

Defoe let us down by retiring leaving us without an option of bringing someone else in. He should be a legend but I can understand why people feel disappointed by him.

He is.

Could at least slightly understand if he was making an impact or difference. But people saying he ruined all his good work on and off the pitch from last time ffs

Just watching motd . Yet another embarrassing fawning commentator. "Just made a statement"? So what have Leeds done today, won the the f***ing league??

Look at the stats.
30% possession at home. And they are all singing the praises of Pope who kept them in it.

Newcastle did well today. They scored 3 past arguably the best team in the league and got a point. Credit where credit is due.

BUT.....
They still had muxh less possession, less shots and are praising the keeper. You aren't the best team on the field with stats like that and your keeper as MotM.

They got a good result on the day. But it doesn't make them European material any more than being outplayed by Brighton makes them relegation fodder

Like I say for some reason the Leeds result has gone under the radar because of the mags glorious draw today.

He should have saw his contract out. We couldn't get anyone else in at that point and at least he was a positive influence around the place. I for one was disappointed.

Also if Jordan Pickford wasn't a local lad there's no way at all he'd be rated as highly as he is, another thing I find strange .

Just say things how you see them ,take the rose tinted glasses off .

Aye

Your first post made sense your second doesn’t.
JP has proved himself time and time again for England in a position which has been a graveyard for goalkeepers since David Seaman.
Even if he was not proven, supporting local talent is not a bad thing. Taking pride in our local lads we can identify with is a great thing. It’s not naive bias we know we are supporting him ahead of others.

I don't know my arse from my elbow tbh mate

They'll have been some games where he hardly had a shot to deal with. He is a good keeper, but no Buffon, Nuer, Casillas in their day, and to win the Euros or World Cup you generally need a keeper of that standard, we currently haven't got one in England, so looks like we'll have to soldier on with Pickford.

You don't like. There's plenty of countries won the world cup or euros without having a keeper thats one of the best ever in his position. I'd rate Pickford as equal with Lloris , yet France are current world champions. Italy European champions with Donnarumma who is an excellent keeper but in the same bracket as Pickford.

Also, every keeper you have named there have made mistakes in games that have lead to goals.

There's not many keepers playing today who are significantly better than Pickford.

How can you love your owners (read multiple times) when this is going on:

You must be logged on to see media items

Ffs you are owned by an egotistical dictator who has cleverly put a white women as thr face. Are you lot really that shallow? You could win the quintruple and I wouldn’t give a toss. Asterix fc.

Be very surprised if he isn't England's No1 for the World Cup . He is better than Jordan Pickford imho.
Can't believe they signed him for 10million, absolute steal.

Thoughts?

Falls short on distribution, if he got anywhere near JP in this aspect would be number 1 already. Another younger keeper will come through to unseat JP in time but he’s well established as no1 now and a few fancy saves by Pope is not going to unseat him.
Wouldn't say that at all
If Pickford wasn't from here ,he wouldn't be rated half as highly as he is aswell ,and that's a fact .

Strange but true

As a lad did JP raid your allotment or something? 😂
