I can’t wait until it goes tits up for the mags when they realise that they won’t ever compete with the very top tea,s. I mean Real Madrid if they want any player they can go and get him. Those very same mags once it blows up in their face will say we didn’t want the Saudis anyhow because of their evil ways. Watch this space.

You do wonder what it would take for some football fans to develop even the slightest degree of cynicism about people who get involved in running football clubs.

Staveley has dedicated her life to making money through associating with some of the worst people on the planet. She’s made loads of attempts to buy football clubs, the judge in her Barclays case said she had a “tendency to exaggerate”, and she’s already been caught lying about borrowing 10m from Mike Ashley.

You would honestly have to be born yesterday to trust somebody like that.

Don’t think Donald and Methven had a known track record anywhere near as suspect as Staveley, but I thought they looked a couple of spivs the moment I saw them tbh

I think it’s part of being a fan, I know some take it to the extreme but there always that bit of hope
