This is the thing. Outside of Newcaslte this takeover has led to MORE criticism of the Saudi regime. Its actually backfired substantially which is perhaps one of the reasons they're not throwing money at it.

I thought some on here might be interested in reading this.

“I won’t hold my breath waiting to see if the mackems pull the plug on ‘Sportswashing NUFC’ on RTG (it’s their most popular ever and so creates clicks), and I have actually stopped looking now because it is so desperately boring.”

We could fire in random bids for players that we know will be rejected then claim 'we won't pay over the odds.

Ultimate creepy 92 posh Mag from Durham. Used to attend political left wing meetings in London with his parents but now sucks Saudi dick without a care in the world. Hope he never sets foot on Wearside again, he may not like his reception.

Despicable human being like quite a few other media sycophants of black and white leaning and self serving socialist politicians like Chi Onwurah, the irony here being that their hated Tory brethren pushed the deal for the scummers through after a threat about trade relations from bin Salman to the criminal Johnson and the Tories. Chi loving Tory policy!
Got to say I agree.

Wank stain is at it again. Delusional.

Newcastle have a longstanding interest in Chelsea striker Armando Broja, but would only be able to sign one Chelsea player on loan and do not have the money to do multiple permanent deals due to the strict budget constraints imposed on manager Eddie Howe.

Newcastle’s main problem with landing their first choice targets this summer has been down to wage demands as well as limited transfer funds. Despite being labelled the richest club in the world because of the vast wealth of majority stakeholders, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, the club is wrestling with Financial Fairplay rule.

The slow progress in landing new sponsorship deals following the takeover last October, has also hampered recruitment in the regime’s first summer transfer window.

Newcastle have tried and failed to sign several players in the last couple of months -privately as well as publicly - because of the budget issues and their inability to offer European football.

Sweden international Aleksandar Isak was a priority target at the end of last season, but the club scrapped plans to sign the player when Real Sociedad insisted they would have to activate the player’s release clause of £76m and pay the 22-year-old in excess of £200,000-a-week.

That is also a potential stumbling block with loan moves too. Both Pulisic and Hudson-Odoi earn considerably more than Newcastle’s current top earner, Kieran Trippier, who is on just over £100,000-a-week on Tyneside.

That means Chelsea would have to cover a large percentage of the wages of both players if they were sent on loan to the North East, which could make them reluctant to do so.

Struggling to pay the wages to loan another PL club's squad player. Am sure they were in the same position almost exactly 12 months ago with Hamza Choudhury.

🎶 we're the richest club in the world! 🎶
There is definitely summit off. They are saying they can’t spend much because it impacts what they can spend in 3/4 year. Even though they have already told us they will be getting these massive sponsorship deals from next season so surely it shouldn’t matter?

Looks like they are signing another player from a relegated club as well

I have no idea what the age of consent is in various counties and I don’t want that in my history!

But When your first reaction is “worrabout when he is 50” it is not recognising that right now she is a child according to our society norms. I guess he doesn’t have a daughter of his own.
There really are some morons around. That vile argument means it is also ok if he is 20 and she is 10. Just when you think these knackers can't get lower they demonstrate how wrong you are.

In all fan bases!

But something happened with NUFC and twitter during the takeover and they appear to have a much larger proportion of actual fans on Twitter, and social media, than other clubs.

Whereas previously the antiquated, racist and homophobic bile would have been kept within the walls of Wallsend Club it is now propagated around the world. The mag fanzine, with its long history of reporting is now in such need of content to drive ad revenue and replace revenue from physical sales that it provides a platform for a 67 year old, non-matching going, functioning alcoholic who thinks every macken should be punched on sight to spout hatred and casual racism. Having seen a picture of him he couldn’t fight sleep. His greatest achievement in life seems to be attending our game against Gillingham and forming the so called gloaters club. He can call me all he wants - but that is extremely sad and I pity him that his life is so empty.

I don’t hate the club and I long to play them again. What I do hate are fans that have parked every moral they have and excuse the most abhorrent events purely because the perpetrators own them. I will never ever be able to reconcile that.

Off to enjoy a coffee on the sun. Adios!
