I have seen a couple of instances where their Trust board members have been asked for an update, and have simply ignored the request. Here's one example:

£210k is a serious amount of money. The absolute arrogance is unbelievable. The only reason this situation has been able to develop is because of the connection to Newcastle United - absolutely anything goes these days as far as the mags are concerned, no matter how depraved.

Amazingly, their fanzine had an event in Newcastle last week where 4 journos and at least 1 Trust member sat on a stage and, as far as I can tell, dribbled on about how brilliant Newcastle United were going to be to an audience of 200.

Alex Hurst, who is a trust board member was on the stage, and George Caulkin, who is supposed to be acting as a 'guardian' of the pledge money was sat just along from him. How the hell can they even show their faces in public, let alone charge money for the privilege of seeing them speak?(£15 per person! Didn't even have an ex footballer there either, it was just a load of shithead journalists!)

I'd invite anyone here to try losing £210k of charitable donations without providing any explanation, and then try and wring another £15 out of the same group of people who donated - see what reaction you get. But this is Newcastle United - they appear to believe normal rules of ethics and behaviour just don't apply to them anymore.

I was on the metro the other day, and was surprised to notice an advert for the 'true faith podcast'. In my limited involvement with fanzines, I've got the impression that there isn't much money floating around - they look like shoe string operations, more labours of love than businesses. I'm struggling to recall ever seeing a fanzine paying to take out advertising space before - maybe When Saturday Comes might have done so, many years ago? I think they tend to struggle for money a bit more these days, with so much free online content to compete with. But the mags fanzine is clearly getting some money from somewhere - credit to them for somehow bucking the trend!

Personally, can't see this getting resolved until the mags start losing some games and it dawns on them that this takeover isn't what they thought it was. At the moment they are like teenage joyriders, intoxicated by the idea that normal rules don't apply. It will end with tears and bedsheet protests, and it is only when they are brought back to earth that the missing charity money will get addressed.

To any normal person it is clearly a totally unacceptable situation, but I think it will be some time before the average mag recognises that, given the way they behave these days.

Hi, re: The TF podcast - it has about 6000 subscribers at £6 or £7 a month. They release a couple of free ones per week but they have a decent subscriber based income

I got a warning last week for calling someone thick! I never even swore :)

And I’m now a lost magpie from then, whatever that is, after being on here ten years!

Similarly I’d have had more respect if they hadn’t spouted the shit about not wanting the murderous, heinous regime to take over because they wanted to be the richest club in the world, but because of the impact not being taken over was having on their mental health and the regeneration of the North East.

They just brush that off with 'KLD's family business is 40% owned by an Abu Dhabi wealth fund'. We're just as bad according to them. They also keep using Adam J. usual line that we have no morals either.

An absolute ridiculous attempt at whataboutery, I’m the first to admit I was in the “innocent until proven guilty” camp with Johnson, I’m not going to re-write my history, but as soon as he was found guilty I wanted him out.

There is no innocent until guilty with their owners. And, When mentioning Johnson they also seem to conveniently forget that Cisse was a bigamist who got a 13 year old pregnant.

Works both ways that though , I would have a lot more respect for Sunderland fans if they just admitted they don’t give a shit about human rights and if the Saudis owned them or any other club in world football then human rights would never be mentioned on this board .

A pretty sweeping statement with nothing to back it up. Me personally, I do care about human rights and I’d have certainly have mentioned them because, I’ve said more times than I care to remember that I’d never have gone again if they’d taken us over.

It’s madness though the way some people on here go on , I get the vast majority of Sunderland fans are just saying it because it’s Newcastle, but then some of your fans do genuinely believe Newcastle fans support all the horrible things the Saudis do and had the Saudis taken over Sunderland then the stadium would be empty:D.

That is decent numbers and decent income for a very low cost business. I guess they can afford ads on the metro afterall!

But sill something fishy about that 210k they raised.

I just know the figures that the Price of Football were offered for advertising on his pod and they weren't huge though he declines any gambling ads.

I don’t think we are saying it because it’s Newcastle, I think we’d be saying that the murder and rape of children, women and journalists was reprehensible whichever team it was and, on the other side of the coin, if it was a different team, I suspect Newcastle supporters would be saying the same.
