NUFC/Sportswashing - Summer 2022

Youve just defined sportswashing
Like Sabre Mage and Urraca say, there's no point. I'd happily talk about the nature of Sportswashing and it's efficacy, the impact state-owned clubs have had on the landscape of football, the toothless response from the governing bodies... But the people interacting with me, generally don't want to do that, they want to score internet points with their mates. Fine, that's their prerogative, but trying to find a reasoned discussion about it on here is folly.

take this last week or so as an example, I said Ashley was a bad owner, the debate meandered from their, to the new signings, and then to the new owners. Throughout it I've been insulted, misquoted, misrepresented and accused of being Ian Cusack. In a thread where I've, repeatedly, criticised the Saudi regime and said they sholdn't own a club, I've been accused of shilling for them, ffs. There's no effort to have a discussion from the usual crowd, it was just digs at the club, it's fans, it's owners and me. Again, if that's how they get their kicks, then fine, but I'm not engaging anymore. Hopefully that moves the thread away from their nonsense flooding the pages.

You could have written the responses to this yourself while you're at it. Lazy.

I get what the Saudis do at the request of Yemen (yes their government has requested their support), what I don't get is as fans we wouldn't want them here?? Since NUFC were taken over the noise has been unbelievable when nothing was said when Man City and Sheffield Utd were bought by middle east money, why? Man Utd have had investment from them for years but again nothing is said. I know I sound like a gravy guzzler but when you take the red and white specks off my points are valid and if they came here with all the money not a word would be said. simple as that.
Another one 🙄

Fair play to this kid. Didn't he tell them in January he wouldn't join them & wasn't interested in their "Project"? Sticking 2 fingers up to Sportswashing.

Ironically 'scoring internet points' is the one and only reason you come onto a Sunderland forum.

And despite your pathetic attempts to appear intelligent, just look at your grammar and spelling man
