NUFC/Sportswashing - Summer 2022

I get what the Saudis do at the request of Yemen (yes their government has requested their support), what I don't get is as fans we wouldn't want them here?? Since NUFC were taken over the noise has been unbelievable when nothing was said when Man City and Sheffield Utd were bought by middle east money, why? Man Utd have had investment from them for years but again nothing is said. I know I sound like a gravy guzzler but when you take the red and white specks off my points are valid and if they came here with all the money not a word would be said. simple as that.
Just a couple of points regarding your attempt at deflection above.

Yemen may have requested help in their fight, but that doesn’t make it OK to bomb innocent civilians, schools, hospitals, etc…

Sheffield Utd were taken over by a Saudi citizen, not the state. You can’t hold all Saudis responsible for the actions of their state leaders.

Man Utd receiving their money through sponsorship is hardly the same in terms of Sportswashing as that to being owned and controlled by the Saudi state. I’d say the majority of people weren’t even aware of the sponsorship until recently and I’ve never seen a Man Utd fan act as an unpaid Saudi bot following this deal. Still morally wrong, but nowhere near as bad as Newcastle’s case.

Still, it was a good attempt, your new Saudi overlords will be proud of you for trying.
