Broadhead.

Broad head will cost us so much money.

The initial outlay then the price of another to cover him.

I like the lad but you won’t get a season out of him.
Need to find another gem.
See i think that a reason we will bring him in. We dont want a striker to replace stewart we need a backup / option across the front positions. Broadhead's injury issues actually make him an ideal backup option for 1st team

He’s not well liked with some of our players, he’ll not even consider training unless he 100% fit in his own mind, doesn’t go down well with some players. Only my opinion but I don’t think we’ll sign him again.
Aye he seems an odd one . Brilliant, turn a game , enthusiastic when he's playing but temperamental. Torn about it as he's great to watch but I'd say no . A luxury for us at this point, unless KLD is really opening his piggy bank

Wtf?
And what if he's needed for say 8 games to cover injuries?
He doesn't have it in him.

We absolutely have to sign two strikers, even more so if one of them is Broadhead. There were long periods of last season, notably the run in when Stewart was the only fit striker at the club. When Defoe came, it was obvious he'd never be able to do 90 minutes then he fucked off. Any injury to Stewart in that last 10 game period and we'd now be looking at another season in league 1. Right now, we must be the only club out of the 92 with one recognised striker at the club.

True but if he gets croaked, which is quite possible, then we end up with a “please don’t let Ross get a injured” type situation

I certainly wouldn't be dissapointed if we signed, as when fit he is quality. However, if there are other decent options I might be tempted to go with someone less injury prone.

Preparing for the most extreme situations, I like your style.

THIS! What is wrong with people's lives they need to come on a footballs fans' forum and make up blatant bullshit. Get a life ffs!!

Why would you make shit like this up, its not opinion, supposition or a theory, it's utter bullshit dressed up as ITK shite. I hope the lad sues you. Go outside in the sun, give your head a shake, and look for a life you sad excuse for a Sunderland fan. Absolute embarrassment.
If you're gonna make your mark as a new member, you might as well do it with all guns blazing.

Broadhead gets a mention in this article:

Nothing new or profound but it just seems like things are still up in the air, he is 24 so no use to Everton playing junior football, I doubt they’re going to chuck him in off the back of his season with us in League One, even though he did impress. I think he’ll end up leaving on a permanent deal, whether he comes to us will likely be down to if the player enjoyed himself here or would like to stay in the north west and with one year left on his deal I doubt he’s going for big money, certainly under £2m but probably much lower. I hope we sign him.

Broadhead will be a good player for us if we sign him for about half (maybe less) of the season. We sign him and we definitely need another very good striker which would make signing him a bit pointless. Only way we should go for him is if he's costing us virtually fuck all. We need consistency and players that can be relied upon, he won't give us that.
If we can get someone nearly as good but is likely to be fit for 90%+ of the season it's a no brainer which one we go for otherwise wages cost twice as much as we need another player anyway if we buy him.

We cannot afford to sign him. He’s injury prone. That is an absolute fact.
At first team level he debuted for Everton in his one game for them in 2017 and in five years he has only played a further 39 games, scoring 2 in 19 for Burton Albion in 2020-21 where he had hamstring issues and 10 in 20 at Sunderland where he was blighted with more hamstring problems. Called up to the Welsh squad at the end of last season and pulled out within a couple of days through injury.

Talented lad when fit but sorry we’ve had enough injury prone players in recent times and what is really worrying with his injury situation is he’s only 24.

I wonder if him seeing us sign pretty much all the players who we had on loan or out of contract makes him want his situation sorted asap.
