But as it stands you're not sure we're state-owned...right?They couldn't find separation that's why they wanted assurance they would not get involved, if the Premier league feel like they're getting involved in the running of the club there could be repercussions.
But does it ever work?
All the regimes or states that attempt it seem to get way more negative attention than if they just didn't bother.
Maybe there's another less obvious aim. What that is,I don't know.
As said in my previous post, has there ever been a succesful sportswashing campaign?
I know what you mean, but it must work in some respect. Maybe it placates their own people, I just don't know. Or is it just to get one over on their arab rivals. Its a good point though. Take the world cup. If its an amazing one, with loads of goals, an amazing final, loads of amazing skills, will Qatar's awful human rights record be forgotten about? It might to some people, and if so, the sportswashing job is done. Take a look at some Newcastle fans, who have embraced the Saudis, defending them, some even saying those executed people deserved it. The baubles of (maybe) a trophy soon, have twisted them into believing something, I sure they don't really believe in. Job done there. It's a tricky one though. It will never work really on a large scale.
NoSo the FA seems to be happy it's not state-owned...right?
You can make up as much or as little as you want and you can make it factual in your mind.I have followed Newcastle all my life and it's really tough for me . I know Saudi state own my club, and their barbaric regime , including the funding of 9/11 and the frightening dismemberment of a journalist in Turkey pains me greatly .
I do wish we were taken over by a multi billionaire but just not by this vile state who are using their wealth to rip through all the sports we love.

Go on....sign it . You know it's right.
Some have even said as much. Play less, earn more.It will be interesting to see how this LIV golf works out, the majority of golfers on it are past their best and after a quick buck
NoBut as it stands you're not sure we're state-owned...right?

There's a big difference between an investment fund, investing in other businesses, than an investment fund, owning a business.PIF is a public investment fund...right?
It invests in lots of stuff....right?
What else do I need to know?
I'd say this is the opposite to sports washing then because it's doing none of that.Sportswashing is about associating yourself with sporting events and cleansing your reputation in the resulting publicity
NUFC fans aren’t the laundry, they’re part of the washing machine

You are far enough “in” to start with, especially as you claim you don’t know what sportswashing is, that makes it worseA straight answer is, no, not at all.
If you think I am then would you explain why you think I am and what sports washing is to be able to bring me any further in.
WibbleI'd say this is the opposite to sports washing then because it's doing none of that.
Are you in possession of any facts about Newcastle being suposedly state-owned?Dear me, you can say it as much as you like but you know that's not true. Imagine being owned by them man! I'd rather go back into league 1 and rot.
KSA representatives now rub shoulders with every VIP in English footballBut does it ever work?

Did you read my post properly? The icing on the cake bit? That's about celebrating new owners coming in with a bit of ambition. I've not tried to say fans weren't happy at the prospect of that, you must have me confused with someone else.Care to explain the 100,000 signing a petition for the deal to be pushed through? You don't believe anyone was celebrating the Saudis, even though there is numerous pictures of people wearing tea towels on heads, saudi flags, saudi flag avatars on twitter. You are another deluded saudi apologist
I agree to an extent. The scum golfers have only highlighted the barbaric nature of MBS and PIF. Same with the other sports you mention.
To me they are not interested in change , nor the views of the west but more like " we can do anything within your sports. We will throw our fortunes at the gullible amongst you and not think twice about it.....cos we can"
Washing....nah , they do not give a fuck and will castrate homosexuals and stone people till the cows come home.
You have any saying they aren't?Are you in possession of any facts about Newcastle being suposedly state-owned?
There's no more sidestepping any more than you're sidestepping.I can believe that, and not the motoring one either. Tbh your sidestepping is turning me to drink
