Why are people still responding to that utter balloon knot of a Mag?
Put him on ignore so he shouts into a void. Trust me, your board experience is better for it.

But does it ever work?
All the regimes or states that attempt it seem to get way more negative attention than if they just didn't bother.
Maybe there's another less obvious aim. What that is,I don't know.
As said in my previous post, has there ever been a succesful sportswashing campaign?

It will be interesting to see how this LIV golf works out, the majority of golfers on it are past their best and after a quick buck

I know what you mean, but it must work in some respect. Maybe it placates their own people, I just don't know. Or is it just to get one over on their arab rivals. Its a good point though. Take the world cup. If its an amazing one, with loads of goals, an amazing final, loads of amazing skills, will Qatar's awful human rights record be forgotten about? It might to some people, and if so, the sportswashing job is done. Take a look at some Newcastle fans, who have embraced the Saudis, defending them, some even saying those executed people deserved it. The baubles of (maybe) a trophy soon, have twisted them into believing something, I sure they don't really believe in. Job done there. It's a tricky one though. It will never work really on a large scale.

Aye I think a large reason Saudi have bought nufc is because of the owners of what the owners Man City and PSG have done.
Big willy waving contest.

I have followed Newcastle all my life and it's really tough for me . I know Saudi state own my club, and their barbaric regime , including the funding of 9/11 and the frightening dismemberment of a journalist in Turkey pains me greatly .

I do wish we were taken over by a multi billionaire but just not by this vile state who are using their wealth to rip through all the sports we love.

Signed

@Nukehasslefan

Go on....sign it . You know it's right.
You can make up as much or as little as you want and you can make it factual in your mind.
It's a forum so you carry on if it helps you deal with me. ;)

KSA representatives now rub shoulders with every VIP in English football

KSA are even closer to our politicians

KSA have Sky Sports in their pocket (Your Excellency)

Thousands of people and bots are debating KSA’s activities on Twitter every minute of every hour every day when before it was mostly war crimes, politics and religion

Care to explain the 100,000 signing a petition for the deal to be pushed through? You don't believe anyone was celebrating the Saudis, even though there is numerous pictures of people wearing tea towels on heads, saudi flags, saudi flag avatars on twitter. You are another deluded saudi apologist
Did you read my post properly? The icing on the cake bit? That's about celebrating new owners coming in with a bit of ambition. I've not tried to say fans weren't happy at the prospect of that, you must have me confused with someone else.

What I did say was that absolutely no one was out celebrating the human rights atrocities committed by the Saudis, which was suggested in this very thread by another deluded demonizer of Newcastle fans.

There are plenty of numpties out there (especially on Twatter with a Saudi flag in their name) to have a pop at, no need to make your targets up

I agree to an extent. The scum golfers have only highlighted the barbaric nature of MBS and PIF. Same with the other sports you mention.

To me they are not interested in change , nor the views of the west but more like " we can do anything within your sports. We will throw our fortunes at the gullible amongst you and not think twice about it.....cos we can"

Washing....nah , they do not give a fuck and will castrate homosexuals and stone people till the cows come home.

At a time when KSA is still new to owning Newcastle and getting a lot of negative attention, they then start up the golf as well.
They clearly don't care about what people think.

I don't think it is even an attempt at sportswashing personally. More a big flex of financial muscle to say we can do what we want.

All the negativity around nufc, which is probably mainly localised to the uk, has been magnified by starting the golf. If they were bothered about their image they'd have pulled the golf following the nufc backlash
