What’s the easy fix?
Do what Wembley have done, create sections around the concourse with gated screens (gates to auto-open in event of fire) with tickets only usable at turnstiles entering their section. Finally have soft barriers at each section in the bowl using plastic tape with Stewards to prevent people crossing.
With all due respect to the disabled folk, could they not be relocated to sections that weren't safe standing?

Be a bit daft if that's all that is stopping it
Better still why not create wheelchair friendly seating area in one of the stands ? While it might result in a capacity reduction, it would be more than off-set by the capacity increase due to safe standing and would also allow the disabled fans to feel more included in the stadium, rather than being accommodated in the walkways.

Someone on Facebook stating seen pics of seats removed in South stand. Dont know why but cant see them doing stand area without consultation with folk whose seats they are.

its just a photo from the remnants of the ed sheeran and elton john gigs. they took a load of seats out in different places.

no chance they'll be putting rail seating in before the new season.

Surely just concert requirements?
That's what I suggested to the poster on Facebook "SAFC forever in our blood" group.

One issue with this is quite a large majority stand in the South. Now if they bring in safe standing at the front for example then they may enforce the seating requirement elsewhere.

I think it would be a lot easier for the club to enforce sitting in sitting areas if a standing area was provided.

Likewise, installing rail seating would get rid of the issue of persistent standing, which is one of the biggest challenges we face.

aye but lets be honest, probably 50% of people want to stand, they'll probably provide 10% so yeah, they'll struggle to get the loads of people who want to stand and already are, to sit down so that a small amount can

What is the capacity of the South Stand? About 6000 I'd guess. Roughly half is meant to be the family section so that leaves 3000 or so. Put the safe standing in the upper section as that's where fans stand anyway, that will only be 1500-2000 or so

Absolutely. Which is why I’m pushing the case for safe standing. If there’s a designated standing area, people can choose where to sit/stand accordingly.
They could charge an extra £100 per year for a standing season ticket, that way it'll self finance too. That should kill he cost argument.

Seating in lower tier may result in a push to get rest of South to sit I feel. Will be told "in there for standing" but wont get us all in the bugger.

Was in the safe standing area at Molineux for the recent England game and it was excellent. Loads of room and somewhere for each person to lean on or lean against.
