Holidaying abroad this year

They're going to be on sticky wicket soon. People simply won't book with them as they won't trust them. However, prices are what attracts most folk. Mind my sister had a 4 and half hour delay with Ryanair a couple of weeks ago from Leeds Bradford. They were blaming lack of staff at Malaga airport.
Regardless of the prices I'll give that stand up fella Oleary my cash rather than them

Cheapest I've had was Manchester - Lviv in December. 9.98 return.

Was one of my favourite trips away.

Honourable mention for Edinburgh > Poznan - £20.

Newcastle > Magala - £40 return last December.
I did Stansted to Trieste £8 return years ago to go to Slovenia and Croatia. I didn't make the flight back though so cost a lot more in the end.

18 hour delay in the finish.
Form filled in 72 hours after expected arrival. Another filled in re: bank details. They OK'd the £350 each about 3 days ago for the delay. Get the cash within 2 weeks.

However, I've contacted them via email to say according to citizens advice we should be entitled to £520 each as the delay was over 4 hours and more than £3,500kms in distance. We'll see.

No word at all about the promised £150 in TUI vouchers.

Coming home we were delayed about 40 minutes. Pilot made up about half of that. However, another delay when we got to the baggage reclaim at Newcastle. Only 2 flights in at around 7.15am. We waited a good half an hour for the cases to start to come through.

The Cancun flight which had landed a couple of minutes after ours still hadn't had a single case through and our cases had come through more or less last.

I'm going to Egypt in August with Tui. All of these stories are filling me with dread.

Just checked in at dalaman and our flight is delayed just over 3 hours but they say it’s problems at Bristol end so would we be entitled to compensation for that? They are giving us good vouchers but we can use them for another 3 hours so just got to sit here twiddling our thumbs.

Here you go,that'll kill 20 minutes.

I’m not one to moan as you know….but the selection of beers in the supermarkets is terrible at the minute. I’m ok with the Spanish lager etc but I’ll get bored of it soon and the mrs is keen on fruity ciders. They used to have loads of these when we were last here in 2018.
we shopped at eroski, one had cider and one didn't have any, re beers, i don't drink lager so wasn't sure what to expect, came across one in a small black can with orange writing- fund it - its called

it's not bad at all, not too strong either.

Flew to Majorca from Newcastle yesterday. Everything was fine until we sat on the plane stuck on the runway for over an hour. Everyone had their covid passes checked at Palma airport and it all seemed pretty well organised.
Got through Lanzarote airport from plane to outside within 15 minutes, can't fault both airports

They usually try to wriggle out of paying compo.

There are various 'acts of god' but usually it's the airlines fault. Do some digging online.

Flew back from AMS-NCL yesterday. When you arrive at the airport you go through the airport plaza and head towards departures where two travelators will take you up to the departures level. Just as we got to the travelators the G4S goon squad closed them and stopped anyone getting to departures. We stood there for approx 45min before we were allowed to proceed. Meanwhile a queue had formed stretching through the plaza and outside. At no point was information given as to what was happening and no water was offered either. It was about 22°C outside with very little cover.

When we were let through we then had to go through security & passport control. This took about another hour and again, no info was given as to how long it would take to get through. The reason for this was that departures were very busy and there was queues for bars etc. There wasn't. It was the quietest I've ever seen it. Also UK passports can be used at the E-gates after security.

Another thing I noticed was passport control for entering the Netherlands. This has now been moved from the D gates to between the D & E gates. There's approx five E-gates (UK passport can't be used at these), four RoW booths (ours) and an EU booth. The queue for this was backed up to the Heineken bar by the D gates.

Not sure what the rules are now since neither UK or Turkey are in the EU so it may be down to airline policies rather then European legislation.
