Durham’s T20 Campaign

This

I’m disappointed with the strategy tbh.

I’m not expecting Durham to go far as we don’t have the players but what is the point of picking middling players like Ned, Ollie Robinson and drissell

This is a free hit to try out some of our most promising talent

I just don’t understand and it’s not what I want from Durham

If you had good players like Dickson and lees playing fair enough

But to have this many players missing and not play your own. To me you can see we have/ coach and director of cricket from outside the area

Agreed

You have probably watched more t20 2nd XI cricket than anyone on here over the past couple of years. Who do you think is the best bet to get us some runs in this form of the game?
Of the kids.
thing is the totals have been good all over 8 an over. 192 scored the other day as well

fine margins in these games, when it only takes one or two players to have a good day

We only need 2 spinners in my opinion therefore Trev and Drissell should be the spin options. Bushnell will also be knocking on the door along with Crawshaw.

4 - raine
4 - carse
4 - trev
4 - coughlin
4 - drissell

Doneathy will be knocking on the door soon and can offer some bowling option, he didn't let us down last season and I'd have him in ahead of Eckersley.

Clark is an emergency spin bowler also.

People were complaining about drissel not long back

We'll never know how good he is unless we play him. We've sent him all the way down to Birmingham today having likely not finished his NEPL game yesterday until around 5pm/6pm and he's not batted or bowled despite dross served up by the spin options. Borthwick has now gone for 96 runs off 7 overs.

For those interested in Jack Campbells whereabouts, I'm told he has left Durham as he couldn't work with James Franklin. So he has just walked away from the club and is going to trial around in county 2nd teams for now.

Good luck to the lad, we both felt he performed well for Durham last season, it would just be nice for the club to tell us officially. They have no problems telling us about Diana Ross.......

Fair enough but if that was the case why did he sign a rookie contract not so long ago? He must have known then what Franklin was like.

Obviously Doneathy who proved in the RL50 that he can score runs then Bushnell then Crawshaw.

Be interesting to see who will be playing at the Riverside on Wednesday and who will be up the road at Ropery Lane.

How about this for an XI for Wednesday
Clark
Jones
Raine
Bedingham
Bushnell
Robinson
Doneathy
Coughlin
Carse
Trevaskis
Dissell.

I know Raine didn't work the last time as a pinch hitter but as he is batting at 10 it doesn't really matter if he comes off twice in the rest of the tournament it's probably worth it.
It still looks very lightweight but as least some players are getting an opportunity.
