For the teams that make up the top 6 in the Championship.
You said you'd rather we were an established Championship club than be in the PL.

34 pts is the average number you'd need going off the last 5 years. So if 32 is needed this season then it's not gonna be far away.
Us going down with 40 is an anomaly.

Most competitive league in the world, probably aye. But there's much better entertainment in numerous European leagues.

In our house we watch footy all the time. On the whole, team-wise, the quality of the Premier League this season is poor. Only Man City, Liverpool and (occasionally!) Chelsea have stood out. To be top 4 challengers, Arsenal, Spurs & Man U are average and capable of really poor performances where they barely turn up. You still get teams sprinkled with high quality players, almost right through the league. I would maintain that a few games - Wolves v Leeds for example (already mentioned on the thread) have been a decent watch, yet not high in terms of real quality. Teams at the foot of the league this season have lacked quality and stunk the league out. Blood money saved the Mags & Burnley may conjure up another escape while they have been largely poor. I like what I've seen of the German league in terms of quality but then again that opinion is purely based on highlights. Money has ruined footy since the days I started watching it in the 60's. Generally the same couple of teams have the monopoly when it comes to title honours across the top European leagues.
 
When you think of the PR machine and how fast it goes; the incredible things it spins out to the media and press and has it believing about what it is, what it does and what it is like, you don't quite see it happing like that for real. We all have been hypnotized into believing the Premiership is this immesnse pool of world class quality talent playing the best brand of football in the world up and down it. It has the best prestige, glamour and shine of all leagues; beating the likes of La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A. But it isn't. I saw snippets of the mags game last night against Wolves hoping Wolves would unleash a surprise on the mags and be all over them winning 1-0 or even 2-0 but I saw just a bog standard ordinary game of football that could be a Championship or League One game. No glamour at all to it. Nobody doing tricks like some smarmy kid in a Kappa joggers who will never be good enough to actually play the fooking game. Nobody running the wing like diarreah down a stick and putting crosses in and to distances that would leave the world's best Javelin thrower red faced. I am thinking the Norwich v Burnley game will be the same. Such a league as the PR machine envisages only encapsulates the top 3 or 4.

It is shite. I am happy just getting promotion to the Championship.

Chelsea got battered 4-1 last week off Brentford and are the world and European Champions. The bottom teams in the Premier League are far better than the bottom teams in Spain, Germany, France and Italy.

Brentford have a go at teams. I'm looking at your Norwichs, watfords, Brighton etc.

Because I can have a pretty sound guess at what that six or seven will look like in the Premier League every year.

Does it matter who's in if you don't want us to be in the top 6 of the Championship?
 
The style of play is so dull. It’s so boring watching teams get the ball, get right up to the opposition box and in 3 passes it can be back with the keeper. It’s pathetic. Chuck the ball in and take a chance once your up there. Dull as owt

If you are talking about City for example, I would agree - rarely do other teams attack them and it is just a case of when they will finally get the goal.
However, I would say that normally there are some excellent games most weekends.

Off the top of my head:

Liverpool - Chelsea
Wolves - Leeds
Arsenal -,City
Brentford - Liverpool
Man Utd - Spurs


were all cracking gpames.
