So which other major Russian companies are controlled by oligarchs who aren't Russian? Because the US doesn't back out of conflicts just because Coca-Cola wants them to.

If Pukin does fall it'll be the Generals more than the billionaires.Theyll then use Ukraine for concessions to get rich quick and a gradual withdrawal.15-25 years time their replacements follow suit.

Whilst of course I want him alive, I disagree with that statement.

If Russia murder the democratically elected leader of Ukraine - for me that is one of the factors that would mean the rest of the civilised world would have had enough and step in.
 
The only way out of this is a face saving treaty for both sides. Why not propose diplomatic talks that will ease both sides security concerns. The NATO spokesman is requesting unconditional withdrawal which just won't happen. Putin will feel Ukraine would then join NATO and he would be in a worse position.
Prior to the conflict I would have allowed Ukraine into NATO with all protections offered but on condition no NATO troops or missiles were deployed within Ukraine or on Russian borders to keep Putin happy.

Pretty interesting. The 52s have been there all along but with their transponders off. Interesting change to make them more visible.
 
I must say it's so heartwarming to see all of the people giving donations of everything (including medical supplies via the NHS etc) on the north east news there and countrywide.
Decent people who care and are doing all they can. The bairns school is doing a fundraiser and are asking for toothbrushes and toothpaste for his year group so I'm off to savers soon to buy a few packs of each.
I truly pray this can be brought to a swift and peaceful end, the Ukraine need our support whatever happens and I hope they know we care about their plight.

Oh it’ll not take anywhere near that long. When it comes to coming up with complete bullshit they waste no time at all. If only they showed the same haste when it came to doing something to actually help anyone, or improve the country.

The concessions would be Ukraine giving up big areas of the east and Ukraine never being lowed to join NATO. They might in return get away with being allowed to join the EU.Its about the best they could hope for imo.

Whoa, there's a big difference in what I'm seeing now than the last few days. There are 6 tankers currently en route or on station. The last few days it was 2 or 3.

Isn't the play that stepping out line sees one drowned in trumped up charges of embezzlement and subsequent jail time?

I can see that might be how this ends. Ceasefire, Zelensky and his government leave to operate in exile and (unfortunately) Russia takes control. The alternative is deaths in the hundreds of thousands, no infrastructure left and cities flattened........and the Russians still in control and Zelensky dead.

Best they could hope for is and allied force go in and help them and kick Russia out of all Ukraine and execute the Russian government.

Giving up any of the country just reaffirms to Putin and other dictators that if you invade countries you are rewarded with some of their land. That cannot be allowed to happen.
