Russia invading Ukraine (NEWS/UPDATES)

If any Russian military aircraft actually enter our airspace, we should shoot it down. Simple as that, it’s totally unacceptable behaviour. If Putin then says our actions are hostile, sod him, he would need to explain why he thought it was acceptable for them to be there in the first place

As every minute goes by my hatred of Putin rises exponentially

Whilst in principle this sounds great, I find myself a bit uncomfortable with the idea that the state can just seize property without compensation.

Agreed. Asset freezes are one thing, but the state isn’t supposed to be able to summarily misappropriate private property here.

100% this. He will get more and more unhinged and try more things like this as he realises his time is up. Worrying
Not NATO though why he does it

Agreed thing is if it was being sold off and paid to victims of war fact is it’s going in the pockets of other money men

It would get shot down. Big difference between breaching an air defence zone which is still legally international airspace and actually entering the sovereign airspace of a country. It would get a warning but would in all likelihood if not responding be shot down.

Turkey shot down a Russian plane when they did it.

Turkey warned them 10 times when near the border. 17 seconds after it crossed they shot it down immediately

Is anyone else wondering what the fuck the story is with this Russian 40 mile convoy?

Why is it taking ages?
Why haven’t the first few vehicles been blown up as if they were it would be a 40mile traffic jam?

Obviously the big lads and the welcome party is in Kiev but I wonder why those Turkish drones could have picked off the first mile of them which would render the whole supply line pointless.

I was reading that the drones can be controlled from anywhere on the planet so we could effectively have a CIA Agent in Langley sat rendering that convoy useless From his joystick.

Needs a bullet in his head, and from his own people.

Someone on TV today was saying Ukrainian fighters are slowing it down. Might have been someone on BBC, can't remember. It did make me think it couldn't get much slower though. Maybe waiting to move into Kyiv when/if it's taken?

Interesting philosophy . Their assets were obtained by theft so we compensate the thief 100% of his swags value when police confiscate it do we

If we could prove said “theft”, I’m doubtful that the U.K. courts - let alone the U.K. executive - would have jurisdiction.

Again - this is the U.K. - we don’t do arbitrary state appropriation of private property here. There’s a rule of law.

There was some tweet (cannot find it as it was on somebody’s Instagram who I follow) I saw that suggested that overall 100,000 Russian troops (70% of the total in Ukraine) are close to or completely out of food and fuel. This convoy slowdown could be proof of that.

Edit: managed to stumble across it again!
