The conversation we had was heart breaking, to hear a grown man cry that he was struggling to get out to get food for his family and also the medication one of them needed was awful.

After this he insists that he will make his deadlines on the projects he has.

He sounded defeated but also defiant that Putin would not win.

A nuclear first strike won’t be “dropped.” It’ll be an ICBM launched from a silo or a sub. The retaliation would launch as soon as the initial launch was detected.

So nato would know when he fired one meaning they would fire baxk who’s the target we wouldn’t know some countries would have longer ie 20 minutes what ever happens the world would be over. On the basis if he fire one the other nuclear powers would

Don't wind me up, I'm no Russian supporter are certainly not in favour of this conflict but don't act like the West, particular the US haven't a history riddled of conflicts that launched on greatly flakier or even damn right illegal justifications.

Could certainly launch multiple missiles. Whether he could launch all at once is questionable but a lot have their own silo so don’t need reloading. If there is a launch it’s highly unlikely to be one. That said there are probably a number of failsafes like agreements from several of his military advisors/ leaders and then the individual missile teams being prepared to follow orders. I’m sure I read of a commander refusing to launch in the Cold War because they didn’t believe their early warning system was working properly when it was indicating an unprovoked US launch had happened.

Absolutely. Putin might be a twat, but he’s not surrounded exclusively by lunatics.

If he tried to give that order, it would be the end of him.
