I couldn’t agree more we are all entitled to our opinions, and as far as I’m aware I don’t think I’ve ever challenged your opinion.

And I totally agree the most important thing is those in the war zone, which is why, like I said, on this thread, other than the visa situation, I truly don’t think I’ve said anything right or left that could be construed as political point scoring.

So it just seems a bit strange you are pointing your finger at me in relation to it.

BUT sometimes it’s best to read a post in the context of the one being replied to. Because I only meant we weren’t doing our bit in relation to the visas, absolutely nothing else, because the post I was replying to said “I hope we are doing our bit” in relation to visas, and how easy or difficult this country were making for people to come here. it’s not just at you the whole right and left point has pissed me off I’ve already had a conversation with a few on here about it. There’s that much going on in this thread wires can be crossed.

War to me is something I’ve studied and witnessed first hand so it does get my back up.
Like I said il apologise if you think it’s directly aimed at you it’s not. But there’s a lot on here that has got to me. I didn’t see the quote to your post and read one what i thought was in the sequence.

Have you mentioned anything, anything positive about the UK's stance, supplying of troops, ammunition and sanctions? Or do you just wait for something negative before you post? "Janey"

it looks like tonight is the night, talk of the Russians ramping up their efforts, and maybe broadening their target sites, seems like Putin is getting twitchy about lack of progress. Lets hope the Ukranians get through this weekend unscathed as possible, and maybe the pressure of so many nations can bring some sort of sense to all this chaos. God only knows where this can end up, but Putin has to go regardless.

Sometimes in life you have to pick sides. There is no nuance to what has happened here. What argument have you got to counter the one way condemnation of Russia?
 
The missus was talking via Skype with her niece and nephew in moscow last night. They both said everyone they knew is very upset and shocked by what has happened (they are both in their early 30s). Russians, particularly younger ones, are very tech savvy - there's a reason they are the best and naughtiest hackers in the world as well as the best algorithm experts at big Wall Street firms - so the regime trying to block information is really quite futile. Nobody uses Facebook there any more, at least anyone under 30. So yes, people are increasingly aware of what is happening..hopefully the outcome of this will be the end of the Putin regime and a rebirth of Russia.

I’ve noticed they attacked through central Belarus straight down the river to Pripyat and haven’t attacked from south west to come in behind Kyiv, could just imagine the amount of nato forces sent to eastern Poland if they’d seen troops heading towards the border before coming south.

Suggests to me they know they don’t dare risk getting another country involved

Said when it started to kick off the younger generation of Russia are the key to all of this, if they stand up to putin in huge numbers they can bring an end to his rule, social media despite their propaganda must be the biggest risk for civil unrest within Russia. Previously it was a black out of anything other than state tv, not anymore

My counter is so people can understand the circumstances better, understand why this is happening.

Anyone can read a headline “Man punches neighbour in the face” and be outraged, but the context will help you understand why these things occur. Again, I’m against invasion of Ukraine, I’m pro understanding the steps that have taken place before this that has led us here.

Nothing happens in a vacuum but these actions are just profoundly despicable. There will be plenty of time to discuss nuance in years to come.
