I think most people looking to settle somewhere would rather be given any chance at all rather than refused the option to begun with

Besides you might not like it but it's law that you can come from literally anywhere and claim asylum within any one of the countries that signed the 51 Treaty

Russia Orders Troops to Broaden Advance into Ukraine 'From All Directions'​

The Russian army has been given orders to broaden its offensive in Ukraine “from all directions", after Kyiv refused to hold talks in Belarus, Moscow’s defence ministry said in a statement Saturday. “After the Ukrainian side rejected the negotiation process, today all units were given orders to develop the advance from all directions in accordance with the operation’s plans," Russian army spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in a statement.

There are no flights out of Ukraine right now.

All other methods of transport rely on them travelling through at least one country to get to us - and the Home Office have said that they will send back refugees who enter “illegally” including passing through other countries.

The refugees can’t get here.

We're trying to get one of my wife's friend's old mom out..she has refused to leave, despite being in Donesk and on her own, for years. But things are now even worse and she has agreed to leave. Hopefully canada will move quickly given the large Ukarianian population here.

thats piss poor imo, we should have took a hell of a lot more in 2021 just due to commitments to afghan staff we promised to help.

Taking a look at a Germany for example, 3,253 refugees were admitted under resettlement and humanitarian admission programmes in the last year, over twice what the UK have.

When you look at migrants the figures look even worse for the UK as we are one of the lowest in the EU zone.
