No, someone who's wrong. The demonization of Putin is not an alibi, nor even an attempt at one. It's simply a statement of truth.

I think the West is waking up to the fact that they fucked up big-time here. Nobody with any sense believes this can all be laid at Putin's feet. But the absence of a coherent policy to help protect Ukraine is a separate issue from the demonization of Putin.

I believe the past few decades more people have had the means to help others than at any other point in history, and most haven't. Well, I know that, it's not exactly hard to evidence.

Not only that but often those people have put political pressure on/voted for the mechanisms of altruism to be meaner and even less generous.

The easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven is the passage most relevant I think. Wealth makes most people empty and hostile.

The transfer of wealth has gone one way in the past 30 years. Its an observation on the corruption of capitalism, one massively evidenced in the status qou. People have had more, and they've used it to get more for themselves. Not a hot take.

I've voted against and worked for people shafted by those values but millions of people do
