This is in relation to illegal economic migrants - not really they time or place to make your "illegal migrants welcome - jump on a dinghy" point.
Britain takes more actual refugees directly from camps that host the most vulnerable, than most countries in the world. It's almost certain that we'll take our fair share from Ukraine.
We won’t. The government have literally said we won’t.

According to the UK government’s , Ukrainian nationals who are stranded in their country as war breaks out cannot currently apply for a British visa.

“Ukrainian nationals in Ukraine (who aren’t immediate family members of British nationals normally living in Ukraine, or where the British national is living in the UK), are currently unable to make visa applications to visit, work, study or join family in the UK,” it says.

Mind some of the footage is a couple of days old now. It shows it's getting harder to get anything out. As much as I admire the resilience they've shown, the Ukrainian resistance will unfortunately crack. They're hanging on for the draw, but we all know the sucker punch injury time winner is coming.

My analogy would be a boxing Olympic gold medalist having his first professional fight against a part time bouncer. We're two rounds in and the Olympian has lost both rounds and took a few good shots. Yeah he'll probably show his class and win but this isn't in the script.

Looks like logistics is a real issue for Russia. They banked on a quick victory and without it they are having to try and manage a massive supply chain across a huge country.

Another analyst pointed out that without fuel and ammunition they are having to abandon undamaged equipment which could now fall into Ukraine’s hands

This is crackers, surely the Russians did not expect a walkover? They couldn't possibly be that naive man. It makes no sense.

Hoping to god that they actually have underestimated the Ukrainian forces like.

It’s crackers, especially with all the lonely fellas bringing in Ukrainian wives over the years. Any marriages should result in them being responsible for their in-laws.

it’s a generation thing, us old twats don’t realise how powerful social media is, Putin lives in an age where the fist is king
Putin knows exactly how powerful social media is. He’s been using it for years to disrupt the West (influencing UK and US elections etc).

I’m not sure how he’s managing this so badly though. Maybe an indication he’s no longer listening to advisers (probably a bad sign).
