I would imagine it wouldn't take more than a year to get a fair number of those back up and running if needed?

I'm no fan of coal, but we need to have energy security. I'd also lash solar panels on every factory roof in the country personally. And as I've said, we should be relying on nuclear far more than Russian gas and middle east oil.

Hydro... Might lose a valley or three but it offers far more and can be switched on and off as demand required .

Its quite a moment when people brought up being told of the proud empire its nation had and how much of the world it ruled over, suddenly have a moment of realising what the rest of the world has been taught about it

It's arnly day two.But if the measures start effecting his cronies I wadn't be shocked if all of sudden he steps aside before they start "planning".He's 70 and will want to enjoy what's left of his life.The next guy will come in promising change....😆😁

Yes.
Should have done all this shit 25 years ago. We have shit tons of water, wind and coastline, why aren't we using them?

And I really think all industrial units should be forced to provide at least 50% of their power requirements through renewables. Most likely solar panels on their roofs. Far better idea than putting them on perfectly good farm land.

Is the British empire relevant to what is happening now like? Just wondering if we should all stop posting because we should all feel guilty about what has happened before a lot of us was born.

A government that wasn't dependent on Russian money and Russian lobbying probably wouldn't have allowed this to happen in the first place, but they're certainly not going to overturn it.
