Freeze the finances of every influential Russian in the Uk actually every Russian living here. Do some propper sanctioning close down all Russian businesses
Operations in the UK

There’s also a few left on my Facebook supporting putin it’s not down to what side of the fence your on here it’s about how you are as a person.

I’ve seen war I’ve looked into the eyes or children who have lost their parents. No one should want this or take sides i feel sick and watching and listening to it all.

I'm only referring to this forum cos I thought that was what was relevant. Tbf I haven't seen any of the far left lads on here supporting Putin/Russia (although welcome being corrected).

I do agree with your sentiments though regarding war.

Baffled that I’ve woken up to this. For him to declare an invasion when the Russian people are against it and Ukraine are certainly no pushovers just seems a really really stupid move.

He probably thought he’d have took Ukraine ‘peacefully’ with no force required. He’s massively underestimated Ukraine here.

I think that there are 2 explanations:

1. after all of that posturing he needed something to show for it, and recognising the 2 breakaway regions was too small a prize

2. his armies ability to fight is being eroded by being in the field in winter time, and he had to strike now, or lose too much combat ability

What I really don't understand is the timing? He is attacking at the end of the winter - Europe's reliance on Russian gas will be falling for the next few months, and his troops have been in the field for months in freezing conditions - surely much better to do this 3 months ago?

Belarus man, what a joke! What side are the Turks on? I’d imagine their geographical access to the Black Sea could be key nevermind their massive army that’s not too far away
The Turks hate the Russians. I've holidayed in Turkey for years and they look at them like the Spanish do the Brits. Mind the Turkish hate Americans too.

The Russian people are currently enabling him. The reality is, it’s the Russian people who need to step up to stop what’s happening - if they want to.

You haven’t noticed the authoritarian and brutal ways he deals with dissidents and free protests?
He’s been doing it for the last two decades

This is on Putin.

Yes, mistakes have been made by others. But the blame is squarely on Putin.
Of course it is, marra. My point was aimed more at those taking sides based on their own political persuasion. The biggest thing I still find staggering from the pandemic is that there was absolutely no collaborative efforts to control it and every government looked after themselves. If they couldn't find common ground during a global crisis then they won’t give a flying fuck about Putin capitalising and gaining control of a peaceful country that they have nothing to lose from.
