I thought the whole reason it was going to PB was because that split was rejected? Why is it going to PB then?

Because they couldn't agree terms to stop it going to purse bids.

Basically Whyte would have been given a low ball offer from Team Fury, knowing that the WBC was going to fuck Whyte over and order an 80/20. He obviously would've rather had purse bids with his deserved split, but Arum and co. knew that the WBC was going to pull something out for them

Ok, I think I get it now. Thanks

Basically:

- Once the fight is mandated, both teams have a period to arrange the fight

- If they can't, the sanctioning body(s) have determined purse splits in their rulebook and will order purse bids

- Promoters bid and fighters are paid at the split the ABC body determines.

Hopefully it helps elaborate on why I think it's prime shithouse tactics. A mandatory challenger is entitled to 27% of the remaining 90% of the purse money (10% to winner). I can't remember what it is if you're also the interim title holder, but it's higher than the 27%, possibly 35% I think. I don't particularly like Whyte, but hope he ends up getting the fight and I hope it sees egg on Arum's face

What's thrown me was that the splits were already announced long before the negotiations were ended. Yeah, interim title holders should get 45% according to WBC's own rules, but those rules also have a "ah, fuck off" clause in them. lol

I do hope Whyte takes the fight either way though. I'm sick of hearing about him being due his shot - even though I agree that he is, more than anyone else out there. But ffs, it needs to happen!

I'm all for fighters making slight allowances to get a fight done, but this situation is careful manufactured imo. Claim Whyte is ducking and fight some shit until AJ/Usyk.

I honestly don't see Whyte getting anywhere near Fury to cause him any bother. Seems like an ideal legacy fight for him.

Whyte is awful technically. I just think in this sport, people shouldn't be getting unjustly fucked out of their fair share... even if I think they're a bit of a bellend.

Fury was also accusing Usyk of being "Mr Steds" yesterday.

Basically Eddie and whyte are being entitled and whyte if not careful is gonna
Lose another shot like he did with aj.

Shame as his style for me gives him an outside chance v fury imho.

He either just doesn’t back himself against The top lads or he gets shocking advice. He Wins and he gets generation wealth.

Maybe getting sparked off the old boy he thinks he needs cash out fight.

I actually think he might. Won’t back him to win but his body shots and when he gets it right his left hook. Styles make fights and all that.

He should take the few million like he should have versus aj….

It’s boxing marra. This is nothing new. You know that. He’ll still earn millions come what may.

Btw I’d back helenius to beat whyte. Perversely. But whyte gives fury a better fight. . 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Half this. Let’s also consider whyte got sparked out his fight before last. Like unconscious and gargling. Twitching. Timber. Snoring.

Also when stepped you even though he was still green he got farkgkee to duck by aj.

Now he’s wanting 10 mill. 😀😀

American money has zero interest in him and brings no cash to the table, rightly or wrongly. They don’t give a shit if he beat chisora.

Whyte means nowt in the states. If Eddie had give him a big fight there maybe a better chance.

It’s not personal. It’s economics. Not saying right or wrong. It’s boxing.

I don't mind some sort of compromise to get fights done. I just haven't seen any solid justification for not even paying Whyte the mandatory split, let alone the interim one.

Fury is not exactly AJ commercially. Fury - Whyte would be great money maker in the UK imo. What Whyte has said is bang on, he'll accept the split if the court says so, but until then he'll look to get his fair whack. Don't like him, but like I say bang on.

I honestly think this is just to get Whyte to avoid the fight tbh. Fury talking about MMA fighters and having swingy jawd rants on a treadmill calling Usyk a roid head. Get Whyte out the way, ideally without fighting him, then wait for big £ against AJ/Usyk.

You keep saying "this is boxing" - I know. Plenty of shit stuff is 'just boxing', but all valid talking points nonetheless.
This stuff probably gets me more pissed off than it should with working with athletes being part of my job tbf. Seeing the tricks from parasitic promoters and governing bodies etc.

Expect another price rocket for your DAZN subscription shortly... Looks they're mopping up everything BT Sport currently has.

Good news is that you'll probably get insane value for your money on it - Matchroom events, all of Frank Warren's events (Then other sports like Premier League/Champions league football, Cricket, WWE etc)

Pretty much effectively monopolised the Boxing market aside from Ben Shalom's BOXXER events who's best effort so far is Khan v Brook, a fight which is about a generation too late. And the late late Bob Arum events.

Fury calling Usyk a roid head with his chequered past :D
I think he's avoiding Whyte as well.....

Not sure myself fury doesn’t like a war whyte is dirty can punch and will be constantly looking to get into the inside think it’s a fight fury doesn’t really fancy still take fury to box he’s head off mind but it’s a tricky fight potentially

Looking at few videos Joshua’s hoying out with him and Angel Fernandez training ( theres an expected announcement about both his new head trainer and fight date and venue by the end of the month ), first ones alright his trying to pin him in the corner and hitting the body but its worrying to see the latest and its Joshua attacking and defending both in straight lines, actual straight lines taped on the floor …… he says he could only watch the first 4 rounds of the Usyk fight cause he didnt like how he was boxing ?!?? No watch it and learn, seems nobody has otherwise that would be how he’s training ! Usyk moves off the line every other second and moves his head off the centre line every time he’s throwing, straight lines will just get him knocked out by Usyk !

Crazy
