just baffles me why people keep questioning why they aint up their competing

they've had Van Gaal, Solskjaer and Ralf

Imagien Man City going near them

evenJose was on his way down

I dont get why they dont just appoint a world class manager like Conte, they have a good squad

Hillarious that Neville thinks it wont be a "good fit"
It's a strange one because Ralf is moving into a different role in the summer so it could be difficult to get the players on side when they know he won't be there in a few months.

Hasn't it been mentioned that their football set up behind the scenes is a joke, I don't know if much has changed on that front. To be totally honest I don't really follow what's going on with the PL, just have a look at results.

Maybe Conte is too ballsy for them.

He can't be arsed to play for arsenal, can't see him busting a gut for a team bottom of the league.
Absolutely spot on. His attitude stinks. Can't see him fancying a relegation scrap at Newcastle when you can sit on your arse in that there London and get paid 350 grand a week regardless. It sounds like it's Arsenal trying to force him out rather than the player himself.

Top 6 won't be their target for players they bring in now. They will bring them in with the aim to stay up and also probably be happy with comfortable mid table next season without any relegation worries (possibly a cup run). This will make the club 'more' attractive to other younger players in time if the money thrown about is silly enough.
I don't disagree, nowt we can do will change that.
But they won't kick on under Howe no matter how much money they spend, rack average manager at best

If you've got a huge bonus as an incentive then players would probably put a bit more graft in. It's not all about skill and tippy tappy shite, sometimes it's about the nitty gritty and making sure the basics are done along with a bit more.

That's why players who will come will probably put the graft in, especially if relegation also meant no bonus, a cut in wages, no trying to get top half of the Premier League for at least another season, players of a lesser calibre being attracted to a Championship team and also being labelled as a money grabbing mercenary failure.

I'd dare say a big part of the reason why players will come to NUFC is for the money because if other clubs were in for them, why take the risk of having to keep NUFC up and potentially failing and being labelled and laughed at for the rest of their career?
Getting paid huge wages and putting hard graft in don't necessarily go hand in hand.
We know that only oh so well.

sky going to be running a story on him everyday this window no doubt  he's been dropped from the squad and stripped of the captaincy. of course they will listen to offers for him

The folk who sign for Newcastle will not even know they are in a relegation scrap. All they will see is ££££

Some serious denial going on in this thread mind. Is it going to be like this every time they sign someone until it falls apart a few years down the line

Course it is. Any big name player will be a poor signing because he's never been in a relegation battle and won't care, any player like James Tarkowski will be a poor signing because they're the richest club in the world and should have some ambition etc etc.

keep up the good work, keep the pressure up. They have no where to turn away from the truth of what they have allowed into our great region
Ferkin love it ,let the fukkas nar that they are hated by everyone in the footballing world or werld for any mags spying in F.T.M.

.. Being reported that Chelsea are in for Trippier .. Doubt it will come to out, but if there is a god  ..

True. If he’s that type then I would imagine he’d be more than happy sitting on his arse doing sod all for 350 grand a week rather than go in amongst the stinking vermin at Newcaliphate and actually do a bit of work.

if the mags had any sort of transfer plan, they'd have signed Nathan Patterson instead of Trippier. Trippier is 30 year old and is costing the same as Patterson who is genuine quality which is ridiculous tbh.

Patterson will go for 30 or 40m and that's the sort of forward planning I didn't want to see at the mags.
