I'm not really a fan of fighters getting rules changed to deprive them of the money they deserve tbh. For all this "I don't care about money" shite from Fury, it doesn't make sense why they're seemingly urging the WBC to fuck Whyte over.

If this was Fury and Whyte trying to just make a fight randomly, I have less issue with the offer. However it's the fact the rules dictate that Whyte is entitled to a certain split and it's an absolute lie from team Fury to make out like they'll make more with his alternative than he would in the UK v Whyte atm IMO. The split is already rightfully in the champion's favour, they're trying to adjust the rules to fuck him over. Not on imo and shouldn't be accepted, goes even beyond just Whyte v Fury - it's not something fans should be happy to see happen imo.

It won’t happen no.

Why would it be a positive thing?
1) would stop ridiculous brinkmanship, hopefully get more fights happening. Spence v Crawford isn’t happening for many reasons, money is one
2) probably makes little difference. If Canelo is fighting a mandatory, he still makes 75%
3) someone getting smacked around the head is still well paid in a two man contest

I find it very odd that Whyte seems to be the one expected to not take his minimum purse split entitlement and hand it over to the man who doesn't fight for money.

Oh. Well obviously that would be a daft thing to suggest, he's a professional prize fighter so even if money wasn't a massive motivator, he'd still deserve big sums of money. However if you claim you don't fight for the money and then actively seek to deprive somebody of their minimum entitlement so that you get it instead, there's not really much truth in the statement at all :lol:

I don't at all mate, it was a tongue in cheek comment, no need to take offense on Tyson's part :) I'm not suggesting he gives Whyte a better purse based on the fact he spouts some daft phrase about not fighting for money, I'm suggesting they just adhere to their own rules and mentioned it as a little tongue in cheek joke. You know that already, of course :)
