You're right. He was an unimaginative appointment. Your then owner had decided skimming along was sufficient, probably because you villified him after he'd spent to get you back up. But hey, you're Newcastle, the 'entertainers'. You only wanted to compete. What you meant was you always missed the heady days of 2 decades earlier when John Hall cupped your balls and whispered in your ear.
Didn't he call geordie lasses dogs?

They live in a world of double standards, contradictions and excuses that prop up their delusion.

Bruce was awful and Rafa a God despite the same record.

Ah, but Bruce spent more.

That’s weird, I thought their gripe with Ashley was he wouldn’t spend any money?

No, it was the abuse of his workers they were really mad about.

Well what about the many moral sins of their new owners? Will their be similar loud and never ending protests?

Its not their business to worry about that sort of thing, they just support the club and can’t help who owns it.

Embarrassing.

And Rafa stats included a season in the championship.

Next 3 according to the telegraph

Looks more and more like these fuckers haven't got a clue about football
I reckon wor Amanda will be running the show, the Saudis will have stumped up the £300m for sportswashing purposes (job done) they probably don't give a fuck about the football side.

Nope. Already shared a quote from Ashley that shows Benitez didn't even want him at £20m.
You’re being very selective in what you want to believe. The quote is as follows:

”So here's the deal. I'll pay £20m of it personally.

"Nothing to do with the club. Above and beyond the budget.

"Rafa valued him at £20m.

"So that's what would come out of the club budget. The rest, £23m – I'll pay.

"And he still didn't sign it off.

Now to anyone reading that, it looks like Rafa valued Joelinton at £20m but also knew he had no intention of being there the following season as he had already negotiated his ‘project’ in China and therefore refused to sign off on the deal.

My original point still stands, Rafa valued him at £20m, as verified by your quote. The fact the deal never went through whilst he was there does not invalidate Rafa’s valuation.

In all seriousness, I really enjoyed it. Thought the team who produced it did a great job.
They put the series together well. we're really no different from other supporters. We're hopeful but can also see reality.

 I mean, you seem to be operating under the impression that Newcastle fans are different to Sunderland fans in that regard. You lot have your own history of embarrassing and shameful moments. So does every fanbase. So lets not pretend that your conviction is anything other than petty tribalism.

If you truly, wholeheartedly, think that Sunderland fans wouldn't have been reacting the same way if the Saudi showed an interest in your club under Short, you're only lying to yourself.

Nope. Already shared a quote from Ashley that shows Benitez didn't even want him at £20m.
I disagree. I think there are fundamental differences in how we view our teams and ourselves. And ultimately I just dont think we'd chuck all morals out the window like you lot have.
