Most disappointing tourist destination you've been to.

Thought Milan Cathedral looked okay while being nee Durham. La Scalla underwhelming (getting a box put on top like the Empire) and the shopping arcade not particularly big.

Monumentale Cemeterio was ace like and enjoyed the castle. Had a nice walk down the Navigli at sunset too which was canny.

Only enough for a day or two though, and as you'd expect in the fashion capital of the world everyone on the metro smelt of expensive scent. Glad I took my Tom Ford so I didn't feel out place.

I spend a lot of time in Milan and yeah its pretty dull imo. Once you have done what you did youve pretty much done it all. I'd like to get into see the Last Supper but its booked up solidly always. Plenty of great places to eat but its tough trying to fill 4 nights.

New Orleans, bourbon st sticky and smelly, French market selling tat like every where else. Underwhelmed.
Clue's in the name.

New Orleans is great. Just not in the French Quarter any time from March through October, when you can go outside and take a drink of air with 10,000 of your closest moron tourist friends.

Glad I did a 3-town 4 day trip. Would have hated to spend all of the break in Milan. Dunno if I was just unlucky but found it difficult to find somewhere to sit down and get a decent breakfast. Most places didn't open til midday.

Piss fountain Brussels...tucked away where nobody can find it in a shit part of the City, which is also boring.

The people are very poliite though.

Rome.

My missus was born there and its a dump. Hot, dirty, noisy, crowded and just didn't find it a a nice place. Far too many tourists.

The Coliseum looks nowt like on telly...it was building site.

Worse thing is I probably have to go back sometime soon.

Now, Perugia - that's a different story. :)

Didn't mean to call you a moron. Meant to call the others morons. Sorry for the bad wording. Your ability to string a sentence together puts you well above a lot of the folks I ran into there, although blood alcohol levels may have had a bit to do with that.

i love Perugia, the in-laws live near by so we get to visit a lot.
i don’t mind Rome and everybody should visit once but it wouldn’t be anywhere near my top 10 cities also.

Whilst there’s places I prefer to others, I struggle to think of places I find disappointing.
Everywhere I go I spend a good time beforehand researching each area, bars, restaurants, culture etc so I’ve a good list of itinerary sorted before I land.
I tend to think a lot of people who don’t enjoy certain places may be the ones who just wander aimlessly and miss all the good places.

Certainly truth in this. Their research often simply consists of asking a question on here the day before asking where the good bars are.

I laughed my head off when a mate came back a day early from a long weekend trip to Paris, paying about £60 to change flights, saying there was nothing to do. I duly released him from my social circle.

Not sure whether it counts as a tourist destination but for a 'second city', Birmingham is not hugely interesting.

It's in one of the most central points of the city like, a stones throw from Grand-Place. Were you looking at the wrong fountain?

Lol, I didn't say it wasn't central, just the city is boring...is there more than one statue?

The royal wedding was quite good though.
