Journalism at its best !

Aye sitting in luxury hotels and restaurants, not in a shitty little Moscow flat with a family on crap money in a generally miserable country, run by a dictator.

Neville is a pseudo intellectual without any real knowledge once he starts getting into politics and ethics.

Also knows how to cover his own arse so his paymasters won’t question him.
He can be as militant as he sees fit. But only when it’s not to his disadvantage. If he isn’t going to be consistent then it’s best he just STFU.

Interesting:

They were represented by Lee Charnley, the incumbent managing director, rather than Amanda Staveley, the director and minority stakeholder, who is now responsible for running the club on a day-to-day basis.

Why are all of Ashley’s people, including Bruce, still hanging around the club more than 10 days later? Are the new owners that disorganised? Have they managed to do anything at all?
He was the fucker bowing down to the Saudi’s when Wilson scored

Not that any of the groups mentioned above have acknowledged it, but the reputational damage to the region as a whole could be massive as a result of this

This bit intrigued me. Reputation? In what way? The north east slant?

All these claims the Saudi owners will invest in the region is I think all fart and nee smell. For me their only interest will be in NUFC and NUFC alone. Why buy a football club if they have wider aspirations? Why not simply start a huge regional business with multiple branches? I am very skeptic about these talks of wider economic development interests.

If you mean neutrals will associate the wider north east with the owners, I think lots of outsiders opposed to the purchase can separate Newcastle from other areas like South Shields, Sunderland, Gateshead and Durham City. What happens in Newcastle United has no bearing on what happens with Sunderland as a city or club and everywhere else as a home of a football club or a town/city.

Saudi rulers aren't exactly renowned for the distribution of their wealth. It remains to be seen whether they'll even give a toss about the supporters never mind the regeneration of the north east.
