Nobody was against selling it, Ashley did it for free to show how attractive it could be whilst using sports direct for free as it's demo. It was another in the long line of examples here he took up advertising space and paid fuck all for it.

If the stadium name was sold to bring in revenue I couldn't give a shit as long as it was done properly and benefitted the club. I'd still call it the same but on paper couldn't care less.

Ideally, it would be sponsored by but in the grand scheme of things, not arsed.

Did you mind when Roker Park went and you had a new stadium with a fancy name that means nothing?

Or run it like Ashley did and take the prem money and flog a few players and invest some of that, do enough to stay in the league and make a nice tidy profit each season

Surely it depends on the amount we’d get. If the funds give us significantly more leverage to strengthen and get back to the top flight then it’s a no-brainer.
