Yes the flags and tea towels was bad.

But I imagine if we stopped selling weapons and jobs were lost in Washington and Barrow and wherever then MPs would be down complaining about that.

Obviously football is not the same as people’s jobs but as a country we can either be fine taking Saudi money or not - saying it is ok for some but not others doesn’t wash with me.

But yeh, those waving flags etc might as well be out supporting the Taliban and ISIS.

I do recall BAE pulled sponsorship of t the Great Exhibition of the North after a campaign against them being involved, so I guess you do have a precedent for taking these issues on up there in fairness.
We have no choice as a country the place is awash with f***ing working class tories. No one is fine with taking Saudi money for arms either. We have no choice. Newcastle had a choice and they chose overwhelmingly to take blood money.

Steady on. What have Labour had to say about all this?As far as I can see the mag Labour MP wanted the take over?

The fact England will be playing a world cup in stadia built by bonded labour slaves, hundreds (probably thousands by now) of who died on construction sites is equally abhorrent.
This was the reaction in one poll about the World Cup being in Qatar

The survey in British newspaper The Sunday Times, which is ongoing until Friday 15 March, had, as of 2.30 p.m. (GMT) on Monday, as much as 93 percent of the 5,704 fans who voted adamant that the Gulf state should be shown the red card and the tournament moved elsewhere.

Here is one poll from the Mags

Newcastle fans' big message to the Premier League – 93% still want a Saudi-backed takeover approved
