Bounce back ability?Has anyone said about needing to learn lessons and bouncing back?
They are a good side I agree but think Kholi has made them have a winning fighting spiritHe’s captain of a great side. They’d still win regardless of whoever is in charge
We thrashed virtually the same side in 2018, and with Kohli in form. He’s captain of a great side. They’d still win regardless of whoever is in charge
If we were at full strength I think we’d win but they are a good side like, they managed to win in Australia with Kohli missing and several injuries. We thrashed virtually the same side in 2018, and with Kohli in form.
Personally watching that don’t think the team went down that win mentality they played for a draw what I watched and were beaten by the better team as they bowlers out skilled our batsman who were mostly out to defensive shots.
It wasn’t the tactics that won lost or drawn that game it was simply they bowlers performing better in the day
Well yeah I guess I can see your point about Hameed’s wicket which I suppose when if you analysis every wicket you can pick up the odd bad shot.We weren’t hung ho at all but the run out and Hameed’s wicket would probably not have happened had we adopted an ‘over my dead body’ attitude imo.
As it was we got seduced by a win that CricViz had at 10%.
This. Don't forget FTECB totally de prioritsing first class cricket in favour of their vanity slog and giggle tournament.Too much muddled thinking from the top down - selection policy is all over the place, people dropping in and out of Test series, people sat on their arses for weeks on end playing no cricket etc. Even the decision to bowl first at the Oval...not good enough.
Dont agree with that at all mind. He’s captain of a great side. They’d still win regardless of whoever is in charge
The best result so far in his tenure was under the leadership of Rahane and a lot more things went wrong for them in that tour.Dont agree with that at all mind.
Sticking a team in, bowling them out for 190 and then losing by 150 on a flatty is appalling. The batting simply isn’t good enough.
Can complain about venues or pitches as much as we like but scoring 500 runs across two innings on that pitch is very poor. It’s fairly simple; if Root doesn’t score runs, we’re a very moderate side.
Dont agree with that at all mind.
They've matured whereas with an exception of I'd say 3 players ours playing then have stagnated or declinedWe thrashed virtually the same side in 2018, and with Kohli in form.
Theres absolutely nothing coning through eitherOur batting is atrocious, it's as simple as that.
Root's the only one averaging over 40.
Some of our batsman haves averages in the 20s ffs.
Why do you think our players have stagnated? They've matured whereas with an exception of I'd say 3 players ours playing then have stagnated or declined
Libby Might get a shot but isn't youngTheres absolutely nothing coning through either
Not sure they have. We didn’t bat very well last time but we had Cook, Stokes, Woakes, Broad etc all available and more favourable pitches. Why do you think our players have stagnated?
