Yep, mainly thinking post lunch yesterday, that was a really abject session and the one that took the game away from us.

Mo’s place looks up for grabs again which is a shame as we all seem to agree he’s got some talent - but he doesn’t look like he has a purpose in this side. Yes he’s not played lots of red ball of late but Root seemingly thinks he’s too costly to bowl longer spells and share workload with the quicks. Plus he’s contributing little from 7 and getting out to some average balls, playing daft shots. He’ll likely get one more go at OT but our need for greater depth in the spin department has hardly been more apparent.

If it’s flat, we don’t score heavily enough. If it seams, the technical weaknesses are exposed. It’s nowt to do with the grounds and all to do with batting.

Shame the ECB Twitter will be overrun with gloating Indian twats. Quite fancy reading the comments from our fans but I know I’ll just get into a pointless argument with someone in Bangalore (or some weirdo in America who was obsessed with Luke Shaw but hated the English as was the case after Lord’s)

I've given up reading the replies to anything cricket related on twitter. Even when they aren't involved, there's nowt but bollocks from Indian fans.

Hameed had a dolly dropped off him trying to push the rate on and also seemed to be trying to push it on with the ball he got out to.

The ‘try and win first’ thing makes a nice soundbite but I think that mentality may have cost us today.

Personally watching that don’t think the team went down that win mentality they played for a draw what I watched and were beaten by the better team as they bowlers out skilled our batsman who were mostly out to defensive shots.

It wasn’t the tactics that won lost or drawn that game it was simply they bowlers performing better in the day
 
I agree - Hameed played that daft shot and could easily have avoided his actual dismissal by padding up. Wickets 2 and 3 today were easily avoidable. I'm not sure 5 down are capable of playing with a defensive mindset but they should be.
 
They is a lot of criticism of Kholi on here rightly or wrongly but he undoubtedly has with this India team got them fighting for everything and they clearly play for him.

This India team has that fighting spirit and all credit must go to them for the way they have performed away from home.

Pant yesterday when they lost couple of wickets batted very well against his normal game in a crucial partnership

He’s captain of a great side. They’d still win regardless of whoever is in charge
