England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 v Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 UEFA EURO 2020 Group D kick off 2000 ITV 1/ STV / ITV Hub / STV Player

I’ll take it that’s not condescending as that not your style but aye, if we had won I dont think many could complain.

did we fuck

we should have won with the chances we had.
You were hanging in fior the draw ffs
True enough, and realistically from an England perspective, the cold hard facts say, we have 4 points, 2 clean sheets, and 2nd in the group, that will do for me.

England weren’t as bad as people are making out.
Scotland played out of their skin.
  we were awful man, with the players hes got we could go a long way into the tournament - unfortunately we havent got a manager that can go deep into the tournament, i do agree Scotland played well & tbh no one could complain if we lost but to me the whole thing comes down to the manager - starting 11 was wrong, tactics were wrong & substitutions were beyond baffling

We did what every continental and South American team would do at a major tournament…. Play for the best result for winning the tournament. Tonight that was 0-0. Expect the same against Slovakia. Any draw will see them top the group and us finish second, exactly where we wanted to finish all along.

Summary from John Spiers:

Gareth Southgate's England ... less penetration than a sea-anemone in a condom. More backwards passes than a game of rugby. Fewer runs than the antarctic cricket team.

Phillips was class against Croatia but never in a million years will you convince me him and Rice are better players than Jorghino and Locatelli. The way the Itallian lads can use the ball without breaking stride is on a different level, we do seem to over hype our players then shoot the shite out of them in this country.

No, just 10 times worse. Southgate has absolutely no idea of how to handle England's strength - our attack. It's a crying shame but we are being robbed of a chance to really enjoy ourselves and feel proud or our team.

They're average man. They could play to the very best of their ability, managed by a tactical genius, and they would have no chance of winning any major tournament.

The hype that surrounds them has not only led to a pack of hugely overpaid footballers being deluded but so are many of the people who watch them.

Not a massive over reaction at all

Gareth doesn’t have a clue, it’s worrying

How? It was pretty much the same team as Sunday where we played really well against much better opposition

He got the team right, the players simply didn't turn up on the day..it happens.

He should have done better with the subs..

I think we'll see a good reaction on Tuesday and end the group on 7 points.

I would like to see this team managed by a "tacticsl genius", not by a man totally bereft of how to piece together the attacking jigsaw. To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, what's the point of writing a masterpiece if the people can't read?

Gonna be another tournament where we simply do feck all isnt it.
Imagine another favourite playing how we have 2 games, you’d rightly completely rule them out.

We'd played ok in the first game given the opponents

If we play equally as shit against the Czech Republic then I think we won't stand a chance against better opposition and it will be seen as a massive failure.

However if we play with slightly more energy we should beat them easily .

It's just to typical or modern football. One bad performance and it's game over. It's tournament football, no one gives a fuck how you get out of the group and chances are we'll finish with 7 points.

Hopefully Southgate is hammering them today and they've got it out of thier system. They turned up expecting an easy ride and it was the classic fa cup 3rd round tie where the premier League players don't really want to be there and the league two team hound the fuckers all game and sneak a 0-0 and celebrate like they've won the cup.

The premier League team then progresses to the later rounds and forgets all about it

Scotland didn't 'sneak' anything, they had the better chances.

We were shite, and we weren’t very good against Croatia either. We got the job done v Croatia, but that's it. Croatia were impotent and poor, as they were against the Czechs tbh - it was only a bit of magic out of nothing from Perisic that got them the goal. They created pretty much nothing else in either game.

If that was Germany the pundits would be reminding us of their ability to grind results out in the group stages and grow into the tournament. England will get better, whether enough we’ll see.
