Not a good sign when the only two I’ve even heard of from a list that long are Taylor Swift and Cheap Trick

You’re getting old. I’m 60something and even I know some. Peggy Seegers husband was a big influence on Bob Dylan, Samba Toure played for Arsenal and Bill Mackay was CPO in Porridge frinstance.

Pop-punk/skate-punk band Chaser have a new album out tomorrow as well I believe.

I was recommended Dry Cleaning last week by a mate whos opinion I generally trust but am not liking the new album so far. Is there anything from their previous output that is considered their best?

Thanks for the reminder! I should have pointed out it's Waterhouse's first solo album (he usually works with Margo Price - I particularly enjoyed By the Numbers by Price/Waterhouse)

They're not my usual thing. It is really good though. The obvious bands would be Parliament/Funkadelic (George Clinton's stuff). I think The Meters are supposed to be the definitive New Orleans funk band.

I have some Parliament stuff on cd from years ago.

I'll give the Meters a try cheers.

I tried the 'similar to ' on deezer and got stuff that couldn't be further from similar.

This heavy metal type (init Anita?) and mogwai were the first couple of recommendations

Where have I heard the the track Cissy Struts by The Meters is popular culture? It’s doing my head in!
