While we may be up at the top end of the table for producing sh!te, we are by no means alone in Europe for it- as I said before, we just see the stuff reported by our media and they tend to focus on the 'home front' rather than highlight similar issues abroad. My brother lives in Ireland and they have more than their fair share of knackers over there.

Ireland are slowly joining the UK for sure.
In my 36 years in this country the decline is accelerating fast, generation after generation the rot just gets worse, the strangest part for me is most of them vote Tory but that's off topic.

I think it's the reporting. We are not doing anything much different to anywhere else and we have a great health service. After the last peak we announced drugs that would cut deaths in ICU by one third, yet our numbers are still horrific.
Cannot believe it's because the treatment NHS patients get is any worse then anywhere else and it's probably better than most.

I very much doubt that the loons behind us could even form an 'x' on a piece of paper, let alone comprehend which box to put it in.

The two sons - 'Braincell' (note the singular) and his less academically-blessed younger brother - are prime examples of why some people should not be allowed to breed.

Why do you think we have a greater share of idiots than most countries? Why would we? The reality is that every country has an equal share of idiots.

Who's reality ? The UK and the USA lead the world I'm afraid, the underclass in both countries is massive as is the wealth divide.

I've witnessed in my 40 odd years here a massive decline, if you can't see that then so be it.

When it comes to dealing with Covid I think most people would say the NHS has performed well and money has been no object.
What shortages there was came early in the first peak, yet this peak has been more devastating

It's a matter of opinion if course. I just have a higher opinion of UK people than you.

What does this latest WHO directive mean. As a layman it looks like positive test results should decline, which is of course good news.

That’s simply not true though, if in every general election only people aged 18-60 votes counted, the Tories wouldn’t have won an election since 1987.

The only thing I have an issue with is your first sentence.

Everything else, I agree with, but for me it still isn't enough to explain the massive disparity between us and other countries. Despite all those things it still seems like too much of a difference.

The army medics having to help out might explain things, I don't think they have the staff to treat people properly. The news article on bbc stated Derby hospital is full, what on earth are they supposed to do mate.

Aye, the poor buggers are working flat out. It must be soul-destroying for them. Hopefully the effect of the vaccines will give them some respite in the coming days and give them a chance to regroup.
