Ireland are slowly joining the UK for sure.I agree that we seem to have a 'chav' 'underclass' who revel in creating havoc and misery for others - we have a family who moved in behind us several years ago now and they are a catalyst for all the bad stuff that happens where we live. The sh!te that attracts the flies, as it were.
An old friend summed it up years ago in his own inimitable way when he said "You know what the problem with the sh!te is? It breeds faster than us normal people because it doesn't care. The b@st@rds'll end up swamping the rest of us eventually".
While we may be up at the top end of the table for producing sh!te, we are by no means alone in Europe for it- as I said before, we just see the stuff reported by our media and they tend to focus on the 'home front' rather than highlight similar issues abroad. My brother lives in Ireland and they have more than their fair share of knackers over there.
Ireland are slowly joining the UK for sure.
In my 36 years in this country the decline is accelerating fast, generation after generation the rot just gets worse, the strangest part for me is most of them vote Tory but that's off topic.
To be fair, his days were numbered.
RIP the old fella100 percent but maybe he was possibly classed as Covid death
I think it's the reporting. We are not doing anything much different to anywhere else and we have a great health service. After the last peak we announced drugs that would cut deaths in ICU by one third, yet our numbers are still horrific.IS it down to reporting... are we ahead in the curve and some of them still hve bigger stings to come ?
look at some of the smallere nations such as Hungary , Czeck republic and you take them pro rata to population they are bursting the 1000 a day.
Or are we just truly feckless?
He was still playing competitive bowls up until he was 93... Also would go up to Workings man's social club every Monday... He called it Grab a Granny night as it a dancing evening with a turn on. Hope I'm doing that in 30 years timeRIP the old fella
I very much doubt that the loons behind us could even form an 'x' on a piece of paper, let alone comprehend which box to put it in.Most them vote Tory? I very much doubt that most of them vote at all
Why do you think we have a greater share of idiots than most countries? Why would we? The reality is that every country has an equal share of idiots.I can. As said above we have a greater share of idiots than anyone in Europe.
Eire has this strain and even if you times them by 11 we don't even get close.
Not more likely a struggling health service, not up to standard after a decade of systematic neglect despite the best efforts of those on the front line?Small country..... Plus excellent health system that likely over reports rather than under reports those dying.
Be my guess.
Yes, that much higher. No leadership. No clarity. Blood on their hands. Shameful.Even taking into account Christmas and New Year, I honestly don't know how we can be vastly so much worse than other places.
Higher, yes, I can understand that. But that much higher?
Definitely. I would take that.He was still playing competitive bowls up until he was 93... Also would go up to Workings man's social club every Monday... He called it Grab a Granny night as it a dancing evening with a turn on. Hope I'm doing that in 30 years time
Who's reality ? The UK and the USA lead the world I'm afraid, the underclass in both countries is massive as is the wealth divide. Why do you think we have a greater share of idiots than most countries? Why would we? The reality is that every country has an equal share of idiots.
When it comes to dealing with Covid I think most people would say the NHS has performed well and money has been no object. Not more likely a struggling health service, not up to standard after a decade of systematic neglect despite the best efforts of those on the front line?
It's a matter of opinion if course. I just have a higher opinion of UK people than you.Who's reality ? The UK and the USA lead the world I'm afraid, the underclass in both countries is massive as is the wealth divide.
I've witnessed in my 40 odd years here a massive decline, if you can't see that then so be it.
That’s simply not true though, if in every general election only people aged 18-60 votes counted, the Tories wouldn’t have won an election since 1987.Ireland are slowly joining the UK for sure.

That remark was judged in the present. If that's true I never knew that so fair play to you. That’s simply not true though, if in every general election only people aged 18-60 votes counted, the Tories wouldn’t have won an election since 1987.
The only thing I have an issue with is your first sentence.Yes, that much higher. No leadership. No clarity. Blood on their hands. Shameful.
The army medics having to help out might explain things, I don't think they have the staff to treat people properly. The news article on bbc stated Derby hospital is full, what on earth are they supposed to do mate. The only thing I have an issue with is your first sentence.
Everything else, I agree with, but for me it still isn't enough to explain the massive disparity between us and other countries. Despite all those things it still seems like too much of a difference.
Aye, the poor buggers are working flat out. It must be soul-destroying for them. Hopefully the effect of the vaccines will give them some respite in the coming days and give them a chance to regroup. The army medics having to help out might explain things, I don't think they have the staff to treat people properly.
