Small country, densely packed, lots of international connections to allow early spread, convoluted on again off again restrictions, a slow initial reaction allowing virus to be salted deep. Plus excellent health system that likely over reports rather than under reports those dying.

Be my guess.
+ a lot of dickheads who dont respect rules and laws and who dont believe they should have to make sacrifices.

Cases are going in the right direction and it feels like we could be under 20,000 new cases per day in a couple of weeks. Which is still huge but positive.

Deaths on the rise is a worry. I think the trend is to lag behind by 10-14 days, so hopefully that is hitting the peak now (cases was the 8th) and we will start to see that declining too.

Undoubtedly. The last 10 years we seem to have turned into a fairly lawless society, police & courts seem to have little desire or power.

So many people have this “i dont give a fuck, i’ll do what I want. No one tells ME what to do” attitude.

It’s undoubtedly lead to people dying imo.

I guess the internet has a lot to answer for. Visibility of the difference between the haves and have nots is relentless and vivid. I’m not condoning anything but I think the reaction of some people knowing they are at the bottom of the pile is “fuck it I’m going to do what I want, you can’t take that off me”.

Excellent Health system granted, but how much of this is down to poor overall health. Fast Food Nation, that's what we have become.

You're probably right and I know this lockdown isn't as being taken as seriously as the first etc. But it's mind boggling that cases at a certain point don't just drop off a cliff completely. In a few weeks, how will so many people still be testing positive every day.

Not as seriously as the first but more than the second, which was lockdown with everywhere open.
