I thought it was laid on a bit heavy - the solo x-wing, the robed Jedi. Also, he should have made much shorter work of those bots than he did.

It's a theme of the show that the balance of power between empire and Republic is moot to some of these worlds.
Further, Mando is surprised by the powers of the kid, so obviously isn't well versed in what the jedi can do.
Further again, in the new saga, Rey is shocked about the stories of Luke et al, thinking they are just legends, until Han tells them it is all true.
