Takeover News/Rumours - Part 42

Methven is a very frustrating piece of the safc puzzle tbh. I think Donald is useless. Methven, however, seems to come across as if he knows his stuff. By all accounts the business side of things that he was involved in did quite well. If he'd simply hidden the contempt he has for safc fans and had been able to go without causing a PR disaster at every turn I'd be quite comfortable with him having a role in a new set up. Instead there's too much bad blood between him and the fans now so he'll never be welcomed in any role and people will hope he's the most silent of silent partners before he, hopefully quickly, leaves entirely.
Not in any way defending the gobshite but I wouldn't bother taking that too personally. We are just one of a very long line of people he perceives barely worthy of his time.

Aye, I don't want to come across as negative, but I think the dancing emoji fellas were more warranted when there was talk of FPP buying the club and having massive plans etc. We definitely need a deal to go through to get rid of Donald, but obviously this one will still see the current three owners staying in some capacity. Equally we have no idea what kind of funding or ambitions KLD would have, or how they'd be affected by him not owning all of the club. Like I say, definitely positive that a billionaire wants a part of the club, but I'm sure other clubs have very rich owners and don't get very far. The plans, ambitions and proof on the pitch are what matters, I'll dance when those become apparent, and especially when Donald and Methven finally leave completely. Ideally someone else good will come in at the last minute and buy the club in its entirety
Far rather a Euro billionaire with a deep understanding of football taking control than a bunch of hedge fund types from the states, personally. Particularly when FFP were happy to see us flounder without really stepping in. So long as KLD takes a majority stake, I'm happy tbh

The cavalry charge would be different in the first ten minutes if it was Aguero or Suarez etc having a couple of one on one chances . Poyet was competing at a much higher level
He was very poor hence he is now auditioning for I Daniel Blake. Also im a bit concerned with some posters obsession with the two chances Lincoln had, whatever level we are at the opposition will have chances. In this case it was a side in form and sitting 2nd in the table, you would expect them to touch the ball occasionally

Fair points. I just think the plans FPP had for the club were worthy of getting excited over (obviously can't prove it but I have reason to believe they were genuine). This instead doesn't have the same impact because no one really knows what KLDs plans are, how much he'd invest etc. Presumably he wants us back in the top flight, simply because that's likely the only place we can be profitable and because you'd be surprised if he came here without an ambitious aim. But then you see the estimated net wealth of the Barnsley owners and realise that not every billionaire really pushes a club on, so until we hear more about his plans I'll remain optimistic, but more cautiously optimistic than anything else

I'd rather the pair of them had nowt personally. There's no reason than their own financial gain off the back of the future success of others for them to hang around. They offer nothing and they're totally unwelcome

There is no outcome regarding any takeover where them two sell off all their shares. Its worth to much money to both of them long term if we get back to the Premiership. The best we can hope for is they are left with the least shares possible. If the rumours are true and they are being left with 10% i personally will take that to allow a young ambitious billionaire with unbelievable contacts to come onboard

with all due respect, you don’t have any idea what their plans were. Neither do I, nobody does, they never said. People from that background don’t
funny how the ITK from this board and the other are now alluding to a greater share split after nixon first mentioned it........

haha Every single time

how do people still fall for it? Literally never said anything before it’s not been widely reported in the press

What were their plans you heard of?

It's competence that will get us up the leagues really, rather than money. Also I tend to view most of the FFP stuff that was talked about at the time as froth tbh. All this ephemeral 'area regeneration' stuff makes very little business sense if we're all honest. Any money spent on a monorail in Sunderland is money wasted in truth. I always filed that stuff under internet bollocks. I'm far more confident with KLD in control of Sunderland than I would have been with Fuhrman or any of the rest of them.

No they defo do not think that.
They both know and admit a LOAD of the mistakes made.
We can not change what has gone before.
With the flak JR got for the last 2-3 weeks he could have walked into a much better paid job.
He like CM and JS want to put this right.
On SD I just think his head is fucked up with all the shit.
I do not feel sorry for any of them.
I do feel sorry for all the hard working and retired fans who have stuck by the club.
But that said we would have been bust if not for them.

He is a mag fan mate. And his info is most defo from an insider or an agent who works with the club.
Where do you get we would be bust without these owners, what a load of bollocks

we offered him ridiculously low wages

Donald had no intention of keeping him or asoro

he wants to sell anyone he can, whenever he gets an offer

we haven’t turned down offers for any players at any time

I was responding to the poster who said that he was scoring in the Championship rather than talking about any of the motivations behind him leaving.
