A new deal didn't need to be ridiculously lucrative, especially since his current one was signed when he was playing u23s, it's not like he could demand a shedload with 1 in 17 either. He'd showed enough promise that season and in the u23s to think he could do well and improve especially at a lower level, seeing as relegation was on the cards from about October onwards. I could understand if he was 23/24 but he was 19 and playing his first professional games in a dogshit team. It was just basic foresight that he might turn into an asset with value later on down the line, completely amateur from both regimes.

i can’t believe anyone at the club couldn’t see this. From what we saw of him, I thought he would easily hit 20 goals in league one

Yep, it was basic negligence that shouldn't be happening at a club with our resources. Hopefully this new takeover is sorted as soon as possible, from what Speakman has said so far he looks to be heavily focused on youth and development plans for each player, so fingers crossed we avoid any repeats in future.

Prehabs the only one I believe genuinally has some decent info. Been wrong about a few things, but more than likely because of changes and decisions at the club made since his lastest updates.
