Takeover News/Rumours - Part 42

I've seen emails from one of the owners which have repeatedly said Donald is going to be a silent shareholder from the moment it's signed off from the EFL.

Surely they wouldn't be foolish enough to give him a role going forward. Not even they would be that stupid.

The owner who from day one has - allegedly - tried to control the narrative, leaked things to fanzines and generally took the piss out of the fans and the region? That owner? Cos aye we can trust everything he says like. The fact fans have seen emails speaks volumes. It demonstrates that it’s not really meant to have been confidential and has therefore been leaked. Things seem to come out when he wants them to come out by fair means or foul. Usually the latter.

If you believe the ITK's then Sartori and Methven have been instrumental in getting KLD involved. Perhaps KLD sees something in SD's vision and is willing to invest in it but allow SD to stay involved, which he's always seemed to want.
I don't even think Methven thinks he's done anything wrong mate. He appears to think his biggest mistake was initially being so open about the finances, not the countless terrible decisions since

Even that initial "openness" about the finances was mostly lies!

He is still the owner for now. Until it’s confirmed.

What if the take over fell through and Donald hadn’t even spoke to the new manager.

Maybe I’m clutching at straws here

I don't entirely disagree with you, but to be fair Chris Coleman is on the record as saying that he never spoke to Ellis Short. If Donald is becoming a silent shareholder and fully intends having nowt to do with the running of the club then there'd be nothing wrong with just letting Jim Rodwell (his hire) and Speakman (presumably more aligned with KLD / Sartori) speak to Johnson. If the takeover falls through then he could always lift the phone to him later. I'm hopeful it's just something Johnson has said because he doesn't want to mention KLD before the takeover is completed and because he wants to sound like he's a unanimous choice for the role, but can understand people being a bit uneasy about it

I do too. I'm starting to think is this just the investment Donald has always said he'd need rather than a huge change at the top
I think if it succeeds he'll be certain to paint it as such tbh. I expected him to keep his head right down in the short term, though. He's created a massive issue before we've even started

He'd be daft not to. He's got people running the show whilst retaining enough shares to turn a canny profit if it works out

It’s not particularly looked upon favourably by those with a S70 or BS1 postcode.

And the entire modus operandi of employing a technical director (at least according to those who apparently know) is that they are responsible for coaching recruitment. If Donald didn’t want any involvement, he needn’t have had any

BS1 is north of the river. Gas territory. Try BS23.
You’re probably right but there’s clearly investment coming in. I don’t think anyone’s disputing that.

What sane investor would trust Donald with their cash? They'll want a say, and a big one, in how it's spent.
