Takeover News/Rumours - Part 42

Tell me. In what world does a majority shareholder ceasing to be a majority shareholder not represent a fundamental shift? A takeover does not mean someone comes in and buys 100% of a company.
Did/has KS mentioned the Head of Academy role? I know he said about a Head of Recruitment but that was in the context of that not being his strength. I wonder if, because it's his area of expertise, he may absorb that into his own role and remit initially. I don't know if that would stretch him too far though and not allow him to focus on the bigger picture as he should/would under the structure you suggested.

I think we will, otherwise he'll be overloaded, However, the head of recruitment is the more urgent requirement, as he could cover temporarily. Dickman or Ball could also provide temp cover.

If Sartori & KLD have 80% shares then its a takeover regardless of whether the other 2 clowns stay on. Or are you saying JS & KKD aren’t going to be majority shareholders?
He's not listening to facts man - he's so pitifully determined to try and prove he knows owt it's embarrassing.

You missed one important point.......He was missing his twitter, i know nowt, tit bits!

I don't follow him on twitter, which is surprising seeing as though I'm apparently one of his 'fan boys'

You also missed one important point, your original post was bullshit.

The fans will unite when performance improves. In the poll, no potential appointment got a majority. That means most fans would have been disappointed whatever the choice.
When an appointment is as weak and as uninspiring as this, the smaller the window he has to appease the fans and I find it incredible that whoever was responsible for the appointment(s) has failed to see this.

I think we're going to have to get used to a collegiate style.

So, at the top, you get KS, with the following reports:

Head coach
Head of recruitment
Head of academy
Department of Sports Science offering cross-functional support to the coach and academy head
Department of Data Analysis offering cross-functional support to all areas to provide data on current player performance, assessment of opponents, and data on potential acquisitions at all levels.

All working together to a strategy developed by KS.
So Speakman isn't a technical director as you'd stated earlier. He's sporting director with no one above him. I really hope he succeeds but its a promotion for him.

A strategy to deliver league progression, or a strategy to develop and sell on youth for a profit?

Both will be necessary. Speakman is committed to showing kids a clear pathway to the first team. But if we produce a Bellingham and Dortmund come in offering £20m or so, what do you do?
I've always been in favour of developing youth, seeing more Academy graduates in the first team and Speakman talks very well about the path to the first team.
The choice of Johnson is a bit of a concern though. Someone who's previously been happy to see his best prospects sold, and accept mid-table placed finishes as a result.
Something about this (maybe it's Donald, Methven, Sartori's continued involvement) is telling me this is more about the finances (which I accept need to have a degree of balance), turning SAFC into a feeder/development club and less about delivering success in terms of climbing the table.
Cowley would have been the combination between on-field success and player development for me.
Johnson feels more weighted towards development.

I think we need to separate Sartori from the other two to be honest. My own thoughts are that he's as unimpressed with the other two as we are. He's been distracted by politics to give it enough attention until recently, and he's just as matey with KLD. Also bear in mind that Johnson is coming as head coach, not manager. He'll have little say in recruitment or retention.
