He plays attacking football and was aiming for a job above where we are after Bristol. The fact Speakman has had a big say in the appointment and they've both clearly been convinced by the backing they'll receive is why I'm encouraged. We havent got any option but to give him a chance, I just think theres nothing on his CV that suggests he's the right appointment whatsoever. I've no idea whether he'll do well here or not but I certainly dont understand why anyone would be encouraged by the appointment. We do this with every appointment, nobody wanted him before and he was widely accepted as the worst option on the list of realistic names but now we have to be positive and try and find positives where there are none. I'm not just being negative for the sake of it here. Was very happy with the restructure above and the appointment of Speakman.
Time will tell, but I'm willing to give him a chance in the right structure to see how he goes. Hopefully the start of something solidly built for the long term. Hopefully Johnson does well within that. If not at least we'll be attacking teams in the process.
Results, if they come, will unite the fans. Whoever is in charge shouldn't just appoint a name to lift the fans.I take your points but the fundamental issue that needs addressing is uniting the fans and these appointments have failed hugely.
The club needs the right structure, the right plan, the right people to execute that plan. Time will tell whether they've got this right.
