Finally had a moment to listen to the interview.

Comes across really well, straight-forward answers to questions which is a refreshing change from the corporate/PR blather.

Seems level headed but ambitious and I'm thrilled we're finally going to build around the academy and use our infrastructure to our benefit.

Have reservations about Johnson (have them about every candidate tbf) but if we're going down this route then we need a coach who will get on board 100%, rather than the debacles we've had in the past with people at crossed purposes.

Agreed. This bloke, and perhaps the path it suggests we're looking to take, seems to be exactly what we're after. In theory.

Just read his interview and he does come across really well and as a SAFC supporter I hang on to any kind of positive. Maybe Johnson is the best fit for his vision?
My only worry is when things get tough and he has his ideas but the manager another what happens then?
As a SAFC supporter I see all kinds of pessimism!!

I just truly hope that he does have the remit to make the football decisions and isn’t just a puppet

Well, he says he has full autonomy.

The coach (not manager) gets sacked. End of story.

Speaks very well, hopefully he will be an important piece in the jigsaw for future success and stability.Christ, finally, we seem to be putting things into place so we can build and be a very professional forward thinking club.

He can talk the talk. Aligning potentials... youth pathways... data analytics... seems like a different sport to the one i got introduced to with John kay ploughing through opposition wingers and knocking balls up to Thomas hauser to chase

Good overall interview. Very happy with his appointment and the creation of the sporting director role.

One slight worry is that he does sound a bit like a head of academy at this stage. He did however say that we'll find out more about his role later.
