mind games! ego!The fact he wouldn’t respond when contacted by Nick Barnes talk sport could be that he’s in discussions with the new owners. If he wasn’t surely he would just say he hadn’t been contacted.
he did get those but he asked for Ki, Borini and Alonso.
Must admit that curiosity led me to have a peak in at the other forum earlier today. I found it quite odd in general, but the fella who gave all that detail in share splits, fuhrman and the Russian was still speaking with authority on all manner of things and not one person challenged him. I wonder how he talked himself out of that one. He'd never show his face around here again![]()
Nobody will really care if the deal goes through if there are no local people involved but it did make me smile when santi was mentioned as the local dude!Given it was purported to be a takeover that at times involved local people, Rybodolev and Fuhrman, our itks haven’t an unimpeachable record of accuracy either. Not a judgement on the people at all, more that there is a lot of info floating around and dots aren’t always joined accurately. At this stage I’m feeling positive but wholly unwilling to rule anything out. After all we’ve been in this sort of position before.
You were mentioned likeIt's a bit of a joke isn't it? There are a couple over there who are riding on prehab's coat tails and desperately hoping nobody remembers how adamant they were that FPP were most likely, as late as September. Over here they'd be treated like madbob, over there people doff their cap like they should be thankful to have been fed any old bullshit, just because something else is happening![]()

I'll say no more! This place is quite mental enough for me. Not sure how people manage to post across both of them. I guess that's lockdown for you.
It's the people running more than one account on each forum I'll never understand. How do you keep track of which account says what? You were mentioned like

Riv occasionally tries to get me on there as well, but, as I told him, I have enough trouble keeping up here without adding to it. Mind you, it sounds like I'd have an easier life without having to fend off some of the numpties on here.

Is it the people that dare to disagree with you that are numpties gom ?or is it the abusive ones?your time with charlie is rubbing off gom not in a good way!
Rough translation - What can I sat that will stir the most shit and get the most clicks.
Hunter's piece this afternoon was a simple reimagining of the club statement. And there are also those who do not wish this deal well.
Personally I'm more disappointed with some of the stories in the locals and on the rumour mill today just capitalising on hearsay and clickbait. There's a real opportunity this week for us all - fans, forums, blogs, the media - to have a serious discussion about the direction that the club needs to take from here. Hopefully now the leading contenders have been established, we can start thinking collectively about where we go.
Firstly, I think it's safe to assume that whilst some of the stories today suggest that the decision to sack Parky and find a successor has been led by those currently at the club, that's probably not strictly true. The incoming Sporting Director will have a say, you'd imagine, but they can't paint that picture publicly as it doesn't reflect well upon them if someone who doesn't even own the club yet is having a say in the sacking of the current first team coach.
I think something similar occurred when Chris Coleman was here, and he was sacked right before Donald took the reins. I'm fairly sure Coleman went on to sue the club for unfair dismissal, though not sure if he was successful. Regardless, you'd imagine that they'll be keen to avoid that happening again.
Personally, I hope we get all of this information at once - the ownership, new leadership structure, the appointment of new key staff, the appointment of the manager, and some very clear communication on where we go from here. What's the plan, what do we hope to achieve, where will the investment go, what do we want Sunderland to be, what's the plan for the short, medium and long term future? They don't have to do this, but I believe this new regime would benefit immensely from being very clear on all of that from day one. We need something to judge them on, the manager on, the Sporting Director on, and so on and so forth.
Whoever is appointed should demonstrate they're able to embrace data and analytics, have a clear philosophy on youth development, a defined style of playing, a willingness to work with a Sporting Director (obviously), and importantly, they need to be someone the fans can buy into. That is important. Big characters thrive at Sunderland and I feel we can't afford to hire someone who fails to light a spark under the entire club from the minute they set foot in the door.
Getting promoted is so vitally important, but I don't want the bigger picture to be missed here. Not only do Sunderland need to get promoted, but we need to do it with an organisational structure that is solid, and with proper footballing people making the decisions for the football side of the club. Integrated into all of that is increasing our scouting network, focusing on recruiting young players with resale value (as opposed to the tried and tested method that has failed us for so many years) and, quite simply, for the first time in our history we need to embrace the fact we have a category one academy. Become academy centric! Make that place the basis for everything we do.
I'm rambling but I so desperately want to see my vision for my club play out before us, because now feels like a better time than ever to stamp our mark and become a proper, well-run football club.

Coleman was sacked by short as the two chancers did not want to be responsible for the payoff its as simple as that!Cracking post.
Apologies if I'm wrong, but I thought you were one of the ones who were adamant nothing was heppening regarding a takeover not that long ago? I doff my cap if I'm wrong but I just remember loads saying "nothings happening, over and over. It's a bit of a joke isn't it? Just the abusive ones. I don't mind people disagreeing - it would be a very dull world if we all thought the same! I just prefer it to be done civilly, and, if it's supported by a reasoned argument, even better. I still reserve the right to carry on thinking differently to them, of course.
It’s also no coincidence just before he was sacked Poyet appears from thin air giving interviews saying how he’d love to come back etc clearly trying to gauge the feelingIf the new owners have identified their choice of manager and have him lined up, then that is a breath of fresh air to the usual SAFC approach. Clearly the takeover is days away and that is why JP was sacked
Good post but the fact none of us will be there to see it blemishes it all to be honest. This isn’t football what we are currently watching, it’s a glorified video game.Personally I'm more disappointed with some of the stories in the locals and on the rumour mill today just capitalising on hearsay and clickbait.
