Some fatties will be happy to have a Sunday roast with every pintAll of they've got to dee is put a few cheese and pickles on the bar man.
Hope you're right marraVery unlikely the whole of the North East will be in tier 3. Cases are dropping everywhere which means the R rate is coming down. The numbers are better than prior to lockdown and we were in tier 2 then.
The south of the region is worst hit, with Hartlepool, Redcar and Stockton the hotspots. If anywhere will get put in tier 3 it's there.
UPDATED: Every part of the North-East has seen a fall in Covid cases in past week
THE coronavirus infection rate across the North-East and North Yorkshire has fallen across the majority of the region - for the first time in weeks.www.thenorthernecho.co.uk
And only with people from your own household bubble, unless you happen to be in a tier 1 area. Wonder how many of those there'll be?Sounds a delightful experience then

As long as all the scratters are piling into TK Maxx and Primark for Christmas, that's all that matters, apparently.Hospitality industry has been treated awfully
So from next week, no matter what tier you're in, you can all pile into the town and go into the shops that will be open with potentially thousands of others, yet you can't sit in your local on a Saturday afternoon. Ohh...unless you're having some bait.
f***ing hell man, this government are summat else.
Hasn't it been suggested that they are going to be stricter on the tier 3 threshold, hence we could be in it.That decision was made a couple of weeks ago when new cases figures were increasing. The figures now are much more promising.
Trust me the government doesn't want to have to pull out cash and that's exactly what they'll have to do if they put us in tier 3.
I totally agree about feeling safe in a pub. All during the summer when I'd been for weekends away and had a two week holiday in Somerset for example, all the pubs were spot on. Felt safer stopping for a pint than walking through the streets etc. Same goes for my local since 4th July. Can certainly understand the frustrations as I'm having them myself.
I love the pub, was going in while they were open, might be unpopular opinion but I felt a lot safer in the pub, sat on my own table than I did when I went in say Primark or or Superdrug when people just push past you with no regard for distancing.
As a society we can only move as slow as our slowest members unfortunately... the vast majority of pubs I visited during this pandemic have adhered flawlessly to the guidelines. They're going to be punished though by the knackers who, once you're in, it's every man for himself and with drink taken means the distancing is less likely. As it's almost impossible to police which ones are doing what then I think it's probably the right decision to keep them closed. The meal crack is probably to allow restaurants and gastro pubs to stay open while the wet ones where let's be honest it's more likely the rules won't be followed remain shut.

Bound to be one token Tier one area maybe Lindisfarne or Scilly IslesAnd only with people from your own household bubble, unless you happen to be in a tier 1 area. Wonder how many of those there'll be?
Fingers crossed, however my glass is currently half empty. The whole of Tyne and Wear will be hovering around the 300 cases per 100,000 by Thursday. This is a significant reduction from a couple of weeks ago.
Previously, some but not all places which had a rate of over 500 cases per 100,000 were in tier 3.
They may drop the threshold to around 400 but I can't see it going lower as they have set the precedent of paying cash to Liverpool and Manchester for putting them in tier 3. They won't want too many places in the highest tier, it's too costly

Did that in one of my locals last month ( Stockport way ) - so ended up ordering a jam roly poly and custard ( plus 2 peronis) -- could barely move at the end of it allSounds a delightful experience then
You’ve got to wear a mask, but there’s no one way systems in place anymoreDo shops not have to ensure social distancing, masks etc?
People are suggesting it's a free for all with people playing pile on.
