Sure I read majority of the Elderly/Vulnerable are to be vaccinated by the new year. If that’s the case why can’t we be back to ‘pretty much’ normal after that? Seeing as though protecting the vulnerable and the NHS is what this was all about?

We’re definitely heading for tier 3 mate

We were having about 150 cases in Sunderland pre lockdown in tier 2

We are now below 100 cases 2 days in a row in Sunderland. The rest of Tyne and Wear have similar falling numbers. The R number is also falling.

Those are the facts on which the decision will be made. So you tell me why we will be in tier 3 based on stats?

Still high compared to what? 'High' pre lockdown was over 500 cases per 100,000. Those places were in tier 3.

Nowhere in Tyne and Wear are in the top 10 highest places. Cases are lower now than they were 2 weeks ago. Cases per 100,000 are nearer 300 than 500.

Aaw the ultra negative Mirror...

The Mirror says Bristol will probably move from tier 1 to tier 2 because it has 390 cases per 100,000.

Newcastle has less cases than that and it has most cases in Tyne and Wear...

Pubs will be fine. Just look at all the pent up demand from the nation of pissheads. Euros in the summer will just be one big 1 month bender for about half the population.

You can only have a drink if you have a meal - once the meal's finished, no more drink?

A lad i work with was in Manchester airport the other week, he had to buy a meal to have a pint, he was allowed 2 pints with his meal.
if he wanted a 3rd pint he had to buy another meal.........

I think the fact the NE has been selected for mass testing speaks volumes about which tier we’ll be in.

That decision was made a couple of weeks ago when new cases figures were increasing. The figures now are much more promising.

Trust me the government doesn't want to have to pull out cash and that's exactly what they'll have to do if they put us in tier 3.

I agree with that, but they’ll also get crucified if they’ve got to pull any Christmas agreements because the numbers have gone mad again, it’s a tricky balance.

The goalposts will keep changing.

Will there be a time limit on how long you can sit with your meal? and if the server takes your empty plate away will you then be refused an alcoholic drink?
