Pubs

Just having a think around Sunderland centre and there's a chance of these being able to open, IF it's tier 2, please feel free to add

Jameson, Yates, Albert, AFK, Rabbit, Victors, 2 Church Lane, Cooper Rose, Chaplins, Gatsbys, Port of Call.
Mexico70, ISIS, Ivy House, Stumble inn......

Can certainly understand the frustrations as I'm having them myself.

I love the pub, was going in while they were open, might be unpopular opinion but I felt a lot safer in the pub, sat on my own table than I did when I went in say Primark or or Superdrug when people just push past you with no regard for distancing.

As a society we can only move as slow as our slowest members unfortunately... the vast majority of pubs I visited during this pandemic have adhered flawlessly to the guidelines. They're going to be punished though by the knackers who, once you're in, it's every man for himself and with drink taken means the distancing is less likely. As it's almost impossible to police which ones are doing what then I think it's probably the right decision to keep them closed. The meal crack is probably to allow restaurants and gastro pubs to stay open while the wet ones where let's be honest it's more likely the rules won't be followed remain shut.
TBH marra I totally agree with you but I think the Student population will have been in the Govt's thinking with this one

We were tier 2 by the skin of our teeth with the old thresholds. Now they're drastically lowering the criteria, there's no chance we'll not be tier 3.

Do shops not have to ensure social distancing, masks etc?

People are suggesting it's a free for all with people playing pile on.
If it's anything like supermarkets there won't be much social distancing. Likes of Primark etc will be a mess in weeks leading up to Christmas, imo.

If so, the shop and the shoppers have to take responsibility.
Aye I know that, this will be substantial food and beer only with your meal. The council enforcement squad will be out en masse.

Apparently so.

If we ever get out of Tier 3.

I still reckon the majority of the country will go into tier 3 for another few weeks. Places like Cornwall maybe in tier 2.

This will undoubtedly be leaked to the Sun within the next 48hrs so shouldn't be too long to wait to see what the crack is.

I agree. I think you will see the majority of populated regions going into tier three for at least two weeks. They will then lift restrictions ahead of the Xmas bubble thing
