Yeah this is true. Goodson was my first away game so I think of it fondly and it’s one of the last few proper stadiums. Seems like a new one is maybe needed to push you forward further. Fingers crossed it happens.

Regarding the autumn on 1973 this was hot on the heels of the 1st OPEC Oil crisis, inflation was rampant and real wages were falling dramatically (the 3 day week followed in 1974). I suspect your average miner and shipyard worker had greater worries at the time than watching Sporting Lisbon or Budapest.
