Going over old ground but it really wasn't. We've struggled to create chances for the past two years. Our defence has always been good enough. It was the sheer lack of threat that we pose that allowed teams to put pressure on leading to the inevitable late equaliser. We give teams so little to worry about that they can just turn the screw. Always susceptible to draws if we are incapable of scoring more than one and don't keep defences occupied. We've been one of the best teams in the league in terms of the quality and volume of chances we give up all throughout. The issue is we've been mid-table for the ones at the other end of the pitch.
There were signs at home last season that we were sorting that. We battered lincoln, wycombe, rochdale whereas before these games were often slogs. Think we dominated more games and hemmed teams in. The second half against Ipswich was like that. . But we need a better option than wyke

There were a couple of games where we managed it - but I always viewed them as exceptions tbh. And away from home we remained horrendous. Think we need more than just a replacement for Wyke. Parkinson basically has us set up with a back 7. He needs to adjust the balance in midfield IMO.

Would not be surprised one bit if Donald was waiting to see how we fair in the first 6 games. He will gamble on us trying to get promoted.

how we do in the first 6 games will not decide wheat her or not we will get promoted. We could win all 6 and still miss out or fail to win a game but still go up. 6 games means nowt.

I think I am lucky that I don't get bogged down with all this in the know stuff. Social media has created a lot of attention seekers unfortunately so I'm happy just to sit back relax and hope for some good news without having to beg total strangers for snippets of information that may or may not be true, it's all a bit pointless.
Wise words, I concur

When under the cosh maybe but I think that’s harsh. Our full backs are like wingers much of the time so we often have 5 people attacking the opposition box. I think what I agree with is that we need a central midfielder supporting the striker better than we currently do or they become too isolated.

Article about the takeover on The Athletic this morning. Says it is between FPP and Storey. Asked club for comments and they declined. Talked about Storey's court cases and lack of funds. Storey confirmed the other group are already involved with the club.

One things for sure. Although some people get pieces of info no one has the full picture apart from the buyer and the seller and they have differing points of view. We'll know nothing as fact until its all agreed and signed off. Hopefully this happens soon as SAFC and the current owner cannot go on like this much longer.

I think it's a real stretch to talk about them as wingers, marra. They're very much fullbacks for me - albeint very attacking ones. Ultimately we've got 7 outfield players whose primary function is to keep out goals IMO - even given the attacking nature of the wingbacks. That balance is very wrong for me.

Looks a good signing (tin hat on) , another forward and a creative midfielder and we are set.....
