Still absolutely desperate for some creativity and drive in midfield and a decent striker. Unless we get both of those we'll still only be one of a few competing - add that and we should be favourites.

Dan Neil & Embleton are both attacking midfielders as is Diamond....Cannot see us signing another midfielder....We'll sign the Kosovon defender, a full back and another striker and that'll be it imho

Can’t agree with that. The two full backs are regularly getting behind their defence or attacking the box. That’s entirely what the systems set up to do. I think when people play against us the right way they drag them backwards but the system’s set up to get them forward and they generally do. They’re as much wingers as they are defensive players. Essentially they become part of a four man midfield and they’re the attacking bit. It’s the deployment of the second central midfielder that makes us overly cautious for me. One needs to be picking up knockdowns and even getting ahead of the striker at times.
They should be playing as old school midfielders - supporting both attacking and defending. However, the way that they back three tend to stay narrow means that they end up getting dragged back into fullback positions as a matter of course rather than being somewhat more freed from traditional fullback duties. I think that Parkinson views them as wingbacks rather than midfielders though - and that puts a hell of a lot of pressure on them when he also relies on them for our width in attacking areas. Hopefully a high quality LCB will help to reduce Hume's defensive responsibilities at least.

The main issue is central midfield though, granted. The ideal set-up would be to have two in there with the energy and mobility to get up and down, the ability to do something with the ball other than just shuffle it off and the tactical awareness to understand when to go and when to cover a partner. We've currently got no midfielders who can do all three (albeit we've got two or three who can at least handle two aspects).

That won't be enough. Those mentioned are likely to be considered for the two positions off the striker. We need to adjust the balance in the centre of the pitch.

I’d be happy with our centre half options even in the championship. Very strong. Fingers crossed Wright stays fit.

You have to say its potentially a back line we could take with us if we went up
No sell on fee for Greenwood from the article I read. All add ons were based on what he did at Arsenal and he didnt hit any of them

Was a good excuse to try and get a moan in though

Even if I knew I would keep schtum. Why potentially jeopardise a deal.
Not sure on the ITK's, surely even if you do know someone who gets bits of info they would only tell you in confidence and not to go putting it in a message! Especially about a big money takeover

You’d think.

Whether people like it or not we’ll be better at back than going forward this season.
Clean sheets were the Key Under Allardyce, Same with Parkinson during good run last season, our Forward signing will be crucial we get that right we’ll have a good chance, as I can’t see many being better defensively than us
